ÆON Movie Wall YAMJ *UPDATE* May 9, 2010 - Clean Up #4
![]() v2.10.0509::r2569 ÆON is the 1st skin with: Screen-height posters | CinemaScope skin | popup thumbnails | List mode | TV banners | TV logos | Llink/RAR support Vote ÆON "The Best Movie Jukebox" | SpeedDial, ÆON's Sister Skin ÆON Movie Wall YAMJ is inspired by the XBMC skin, Aeon, to bring you one of the most efficient and intuitive NMT skins. Elements have been borrowed from tson's 5150 YAMJ skin (flags), Robinsjexcal (filtering), Unique Black Glas (trailers), and ppp3 (TV Shows). ![]() Previous Screenshots | Video by darbyweb (v2.9.0828?) | Video by Legion455 (v2.9.0929) | myiHome/YAMJ/AEON Installation Video by gonzalu Overscan Tool::v2.9.1024::OCTOBER 24, 2009::Readme::Mirrors CinemaScope::FOR r1066::v2.9.1208::DECEMBER 8, 2009::Readme::Overscan Tool Readme::Mirrors::Overscan Tool included in RAR pack. Move the "amwyamj2100509" folder and its contents to the skins folder of where YAMJ has been installed to. 2. Either rename "amwyamj2100509" to "default" or edit the last line of moviejukebox.properties so that it says amwyamj2100509 instead of default. In my experience, this last line in the moviejukebox.properties tends to change it back to "default" -- so after changing this line and saving it, I would make the file READ ONLY. To do this, right click on the file, click Properties, check Read-only, click Apply, and OK. 3. I would recommend removing all previously generated files ("C:\Program Files\myiHome\webapps\ROOT\feature\myiHome-moviejukebox" for myiHome users) and regenerating them. For myiHome users, go to Edit > Preferences > Plugin > Regenerate to regenerate all the files. 4. Remember to put your overscan values back in before regenerating. 5. If you set YAMJ to download Apple trailers, make sure to only set it to download 1 trailer. This should save you time and bandwidth. Use this line in the moviejukebox.properties file: appletrailers.download=1 *Remember to get the developmental version of YAMJ, found here: http://mediaplayersite.com/YAMJ_Latest *Remember to put your overscan values back in. Overscan Tool Installation: 1. Extract the contents. 2. Place all the files on a USB drive or anywhere you can access the index.html file on the NMT. 3. Run the index.html file on the NMT and follow the on-screen directions to find the values for your TV. June 29, 2011 Update This skin has been brought upto date with the new changes in YAMJ v2.5 (r2569 or later) by gt-eins. May 9, 2010 Update I believe my time here, and certainly this skin, has past its peak, as evident by how long Cleanup #4 took. I've went as far as I wanted to go with this skin and it surely has went far. This is an extremely minor update, so if you don't need any of the following, there's no need to get it. Some of the issues weren't directly skin related and simply updating YAMJ would've fixed them. 1) The TV function, which uses PPP code, would sometimes output titles with "(e1 - e4)". This has been removed as it really served no purpose. 2) Sometimes negative number ratings would show under LowList. When a movie or TV show now has a negative rating, the rating tab will be absent. 3) I've added support for multilingual subtitle detection. So if YAMJ detects your subtitles as "en / es / it", the skin will see this as the moving having subtitles and will display the "CC" logo. 4) "BluRay" has been added for m2ts container detection. 5) I've added more aspect ratios. 1.37:1, 1.43:1, 1.50:1, 1.56:1, 1.75:1, 2.00:1, 2.20:1. Also, when YAMJ detects a movie having a 16:9 AR, the skin will display 1.77:1. 4:3 will display as 1.33:1. 3:2 will display as 1.50:1. 6) Fixed by YAMJ update: - Better episode counter. - Year. - Original Title showing instead of Title. - Casing for audio codecs. 7) The following issues were brought up, but were fine during my testing: - http://networkedmediatank.com/showthread...#pid334484 . Under purely-YAMJ scraped movies (no NFO managers such as YANFOE), certificates are now fine so the issue described in this link should no longer be an issue. For NFO-manager users, take it up with the developer of your particular NFO manager. - http://networkedmediatank.com/showthread...#pid354563 . shawnwalters has modified the previous cleanup for cinemascope users. It's not official, but it seems to look OK. - http://networkedmediatank.com/showthread...#pid356051 . The DTS-HD flag shows up fine for me. - The exitviamenu exit strategy seems to work fine for me. I think that should cover it for this clean up. Thanks for the support! ÆON Movie Wall YAMJ Overscan Tool This is only required if both coikenMod=false and LowList=false in the skin-options.xsl. ![]() Read the on-screen directions. Get the values. Follow the screenshots below if you don't know what to do with these numbers. Put the numbers into both files and test it out. If it's off by a little bit, adjust the numbers accordingly. ![]() ![]() All my tests had my NMT set to 16:9. Also the frequency (50Hz, 60Hz, etc.) doesn't matter as they produced the same numbers. Samsung SPS4243X/XAA @720p Manual Numbers: resolution 453x672, shift 488 Tool Numbers: resolution SAME, shift SAME @1080i Manual Numbers: resolution 454x674, shift 490 Tool Numbers: resolution SAME, shift 493 Vizio VU32L @720p Manual: 454x674, 501 Tool: 455x676, 499 @1080i Manual: 458x680, 495 Tool: SAME, 494 @1080p Manual: 457x678, 501 Tool: 458x680, 500 Sony KDL-52V4100 @720p Manual: 462x686, 494 Tool: SAME, 493 @1080p/i Manual: 461x684, 492 Tool: SAME, SAME Philips 63PF9631D/37B @720p Manual: 458x680, 488 Tool: 458x682, 501 @1080i Manual: 459x682, 501 Tool: 461x684, 502 So why are there small differences between between the Manual numbers and Tool numbers? There are a couple reasons. Older and/or cheaper TVs (like my Vizio and Philips) like to shift pixels frequently, numerous times per minute. The Sony and the Samsung are higher in quality and shift pixels less, even from day-to-day. This is why I suggest to add at least 3 pixels to the numbers the Tool produces for you, to compensate for the TV's pixel shifting. As always, read the latest readme's for all releases. Actually, because r1050 just came out a few days ago, it slightly delayed the release of this skin. But yes, those above screenshots are a result of the files being built on YAMJ svn r1050. I can only test it on my own library, and I don't really catalog box sets or TV shows or anything like that. Pretty much what you see in the above screenshot is what you got. (07-30-2009 04:12 AM)ejp Wrote: Not only that, but perhaps the greatest and most unique feature about this skin is the ability for the posters to occupy the screens full height. Unfortunately this is the very reason why I will be unable to use this skin. My tv does not allow me to turn off overscan, so unless text is within the safe area, I won't be able to read it, so its likely some posters title will be cut off or obscured. The tag line in your examples for Cloverfield and Lucky number slevin for example would probably be affected. Its a pity because it looks like a very nice skin. |

The tag line in your examples for Cloverfield and Lucky number slevin for example would probably be affected. Actually, I take this into account and have allowed for some flexibility in the coding. I know, it's not really user friendly if they have to go through coding in the xsl file, but it's all I have at this point. It's at least worth a try to see how it looks on your screen. On 3 of my screens, a handful of pixels off the top and bottom are cropped off by overscan. I personally feel this is acceptable. A better amount of pixels are cropped off the left actually, but by making a few adjustments, you might be able to get it just right for you. But like I said, these adjustments are made in the coding, and hopefully you'll be patient enough to make some of these changes. I can certainly help you if you need it. It's unfortunate because XBMC does have it's own built-in function to account for overscan. Even XBMC for PC (or any program for PC) connected to a television will automatically account for overscan if set up correctly. The way I set up the skin, the left and right sides are being evenly cropped. I didn't want to proactively make any adjustments because everyone's TV accounts for overscan differently. But if there is a general consensus down the line about how much it should be adjusted to the right, then I'll put it in the final coding. Hope that helps, and thanks for reminding me about the overscan. I meant to put it in the original post. [XBMC] A Port by ejp - They Said It Couldn't Be Done. |

Currently, to be honest with you, there is no way to browse/filter by genre or alphabetically. My main goal was to mimic how Aeon does it, and it doesn't filter anything that way. But I know the NMT handles browsing a bit slower than what a PC can do, so browsing by genre/alphabet would be helpful. I'll work on it, hopefully come up with something aesthetically pleasing. However, there's really no link to go from this YAMJ skin to myiHome, so this tells me you should be able to use it in your situation. You can give it a shot and see what happens. If you're using a custom index for your NMT or something, and you want better integration, you can take a look at the mjb.homePage= in the skin.properties file.
