RE: Faster PHP server CSI package
Can somebody explain how to enable the mod_rewrite ?

I've tried adding server.modules += ( "mod_rewrite" ) at the end of /share/Apps/lighhttpd/etc/lighttpd.conf,
restarted lighttpd trough CSI,
but the phpinfo still doesn't show mod_rewrite.

It should be there as i get this in console:
Code:

mod_rewrite does not work in the CSI version of lighttpd because it has been compiled without regular expression support. The ipkg version should support it but it crashes.

Any thoughts?

Same issue here... would be nice to have it fixed ;-)

Without some help from your side nobody will be able to help you. There must be a special reason, why it does not work on your NMT but works on many others. My lighttpd server always starts on boot.

Add the following line to lighttpd.conf:

server.errorlog = "/share/error.log"

Restart your NMT and check for the content of error.log. If there are any error messages, publish them here.

RE: Faster PHP server CSI package
Hi all,

I've installed this alternative webserver with the nmt community installer. I noticed that the 'old' server is still running as well. Is this normal or do I misinterpret things. Bit confused right now. Any pointer would be much appreciated.

Johan

The builtin server will always run, but not on port 9999 if lighttpd is installed. But you are running myihome server, which slows everything down terribly. Go to settings and stop it.

@Guenter: many thanks for the myihome tip, big big difference indeed!!

Oh ok so both run at the same time. Which apps then benefit from lighttpd then? Or is port 9999 the default one used by the UI for instance. I installed Oversight and when I stopped lighttpd it kept working. Any link to info I can read about this by any chance?

Johan

Johan,

Port 9999 is started via CSI install script and is used for all CSI apps that have a gaya interface. If lighttpd is started, the internal server on Port 9999 is stopped and replaced with lighttpd.

RE: Faster PHP server CSI package
Hello,

I have a bit of newb questions. I installed lighttpd. It makes transmission a lot faster!

Can I also use lighttpd to host an external HTML website? If so, where can I store it and to which port should I route?

I have "webserver" installed which also does the trick, but I thought maybe the website will be faster with lighttpd also.

Does the UI of the NMT also benefit from lighttpd?

Thanks and keep up the good work!
