How does oversight get its information?

How does get oversight it's information from reading the harddisk or the nfo...some dvd's can not be found...what do i have to do to resolve this.. i mean what can i do to provide information to oversight ?

Hi it reads the nfo and then uses the file name. If you put an imdb in an nfo file then it should pick it up.
Make sure catalog_nfo_read is set to yes. in OVersight->Setup->Catalog:Scraping and Detecting.

Also email me the file names it is having trouble with, because the main goal is for Oversight to be better at guessing the filename correctly.

The problem I have are files with no nfo...
Is there a kind of data base with nfo like sites who subtitels and covers..to find a movie and download the nfo in the right folder...so oversight can pick them up

once you have identifed the movie the nfo is not needed. (because the nfo is to identify the movie!)
Email the filenames that it is having trouble with and I can see of there is any tweaking I can do to the scanner.
