[UMC] Compatability with PPC Mac

Looking at the You Tube Demo and reading the wiki makes me want this jukebox all the more. After watching this project evolve for some time one of the biggest selling points for me (being a mac ppc user) was the supposed use of Java 5 as opposed to Java 6. For some ludicrous reason which is unlikely to change Apple are not updating their ppc machine to Java 6 which has meant I can't use excellent programs such as Yamj etc.

Please tell me UMC is not going to turn out the same way.

Nice to see I'm not the only person in this boat. AFAIK UMC had been created so it could feasibly run on a PPC mac.
Being not very knowledgeable about computers so far all of my attempts have failed. If you look at my posts in the UMC 1.8 thread you will see what I have done so far:

From what I understand you need to run the latest version of java that ONLY runs on 64bit apples. I have a mini thats 32bit and get the java version I need.

Well if it must run on Java 6 then I agree we are gooses. However this would be contrary to previous advices by the UMC team.

Would be great if one of the UMC mac guys could confirm for us.

I tried this on my Intel mac at work, it would only work if I selected Java 6 for 64bit otherwise I just got the error I got on my PPC.
