Hi guys,

I've been working on a plugin for searching IMDb. Can somebody please test/review te first screen I created?

(only in HD currently)

Currently, only this first screen is available. I want to make sure I'm on the right track (instead of having to change my code for ALL pages when I'm done :dodgy.
If you enter something in the search box and submit, it will do the search, but it will take you to a text page (no design yet).

If you go over the top 10 images, they should "light up". Left, Right, Up and Down buttons should work too.

Could somebody be so kind to test my plugin and post a screenshot? Thanks in advance!

Had a very quick look and only have my phone to take a photo.

The left/right etc does navigate correctly however the Top 10 seems to change each time in order or is there no order, they are just The 10 movies in no order.
When on a movie the image next door is changed to that of the one you are 'on'. It is also enlarged.

Search is working either with a correct or incorrect entry in terms of the text shows the actual search is but the screen is white with black text..

You know about the second screens so apart from the issues with the Top10 and the 'missing/dupe' image it is working as you expected.
I'm not sure it is the most appealing plugin due to a combination of the text/colours. It has a 50/60's look to it IMO, just personal tastes I suppose. There is also a lot of empty space, perhaps have some text or classic movie covers in there?

The black-white-text-screens are indeed not finished yet, but the fact that the search displays the text, means that the script is working Now I need to figure out why the top10 images are shifted. Are all images shifted one to the right (so "Funny People" and "Orhpan" are actually to the right)?

I'll see if I can think of a more to-this-date design

I'm aware of the 1280x720 HD resolution with the 1100x656 viewable area. But is the viewable area centered on the screen, or located at the top left (or center left) of the screen?

It's centered.

Hi guys,

I've been working on the design (since Excal doesn't like the current design ) Could you take a look at this mock-up:


I was planning to put the search options under the search field (search for title, actor or character) which you can switch by using the red-green-blue buttons.

Should I continue this design? Or start over?

I like it better than the old one although the old one is still showing on the NMT so the colours are hard to judge.

Searchbox on the mainpage isn't centered and not nearly as big as it is when viewing in a browser.
Searchbox on the resultpage doesn't submit when pressing enter.

Other than that it looks alright
You might want to lower the top10 covers a bit though, they're really close to the text above it.

I've fixed the searchbox on the result page, but it will still show "Under Construction" I'll need to design the actual result page a bit more
Lowered the top 10 covers as you said (they indeed were a bit too close to the header).

The search box on the homepage should be aligned with the "Search For" header. (to the left) But I need to figure out the exact size for the search box. The input field apparently doesn't support a css-width tag (100%).

Could anybody provide tips about the size of the input field?
