A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
Has been working great ALL features for 2 to 3 months
Popcorn does not see hard drive any longer wizard not available in menu. Deinstalled hard drive and put into USB READER Sees the three volume id's but of course cannot access PC Vista Tried another working hard drive ... Hard drive wizard does not come up. A11 A110 streaming and network access Still working fine I have reinstalled the latest firmware via usb installs fine ... no change. I think I have a hardware fault in the popcorn. other possibilities There is a setting that needs reseting ... I have used hardware defaults to no avail. I have several friends with the A110 (I helped set them up) and we are beat USB attached drives work fine only the internal not working any more ideas. Drypowder in Canada Love my popcorn! |

RE: A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
Do you hear the harddrive spinup?

RE: A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
does the external drive have it's own power supply or does it get power from the USB port?

RE: A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
Maybe it's the internal drive connector.. how does it look? Anything seem loose? Was the PCH unit moved, dropped, shocked, or involved in a power outtage shortly before it stopped recognizing the drive? Is it normally plugged into a working (power switch still lit?) surge protector?

RE: A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
The Problem is with the internal Hard drive not the USB drives therefore it receives its power from the popcorn. This is a 1 Terabyte Western Digital Green Drive.
The popcorn was not dropped. USB sticks work fine and USB hard drives with their own power work fine. Their was a thunder storm here in Toronto ... lots of power outs (2 or 3) ... but got lots of toys nothing else hurting. Hard drive is sloppy into the internal connect slot but remeber it has been working. Thanks for the interest Guys. I am supposed to give a Demo to a bunch of amateur Radio friends in 10 days. Any Ideas? Drypowder |

RE: A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
Some more information
I do not have any NMT applications or a NMT wizard installed any more on the popcorn A110. I cannot reinstall by USB as directed because the wizard is not present and is needed for syb8634.nmt to load. USB 40 Gig works off front USB and 4 gig stick works off back. Box no longer sees the INternal drive or supports "NMT applications" or "NMT Setup Wizard". Thanks again Drypowder |

I too had this problem. I reformatted the drive and reinstalled it. Now it works fine.

When A-110 stopped seeng your hard drive did it still have any NMT applications, and did youstill have a network wizard. I have tried a different hard drive new but not formatted in window but without partitions. I cannot format on the popcorn because because I have no Setup Wizard anymore. Thanks |

RE: A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
Hi,
I have the exact same problem (but with A100). Everything worked fine for over a year, but then yesterday the internal HDD is not recognized. Network features/streaming and plugging in external USB drives works fine. The NMT settings is not shown in maintanance so it seems that the unit doesn't recognize the internal HDD (HDD works fine on my computer). When booting the A100 you don't get the normal "ticking" from the HDD when it spins up (but when in computer it does all the "normal" sounds) Have tested with another HDD, tried to remove partitions and put it blank in again, formatted in Windows, flash firmware, etc, etc. Seems like the internal HDD controller stopped working on the A100? Anything to do about it? |

RE: A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
If the drive you're using has been formatted to NTFS through Windows quick-fomat, the NMT won't see it any form. In case that's relevant...

RE: A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
Your filesystem could be corrupted and your NMT is trying to fix it. Give it some time. Or try this: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/announ...php?aid=24

RE: A110 no longer sees its internal Hard Drive
I have exactly the same problem.
PCH A-110 unit here with a 1.5 terabyte seagate harddisk. Everything (apps, movies, ...) was fine until two days ago. Then the day after the unit started working badder and badder. First the HDMI output stopped working (it tried setting back and forth the settings but alas HDMI is dead) then myhome (YAMJ) disapeared and finally the harddisk is not anymore recognized. This hdd or another that I could connect (the other one is a 250 gb western digital) I tried everything plugging/unplugging reseting...hdd's are gone. The other functions, apart HDMI, seems to work pretty fine just now the unit is totally unusable for me. Nothing hapenned the night before the unit was working perfectly fine the day after nothing was working and all went downhill. Yes I tried to do a firmware upgrade but it didn't make any difference. I tried the "scandisk" tool but it doesn't find anny hdd's so...there's nothing to scan. I think that the motherboard just died. |
