2 Features Have Changed Functionality

After updating the firmware recently. Two changes in the PCH behavior occurred. Both are inferior to their original functionality in my experience.

The back button used to go back one folder, now it goes back one page. This is highly irritating with sub-folders and the need to somehow get back to a root folder.

The play button. I used to be able to highlight the first item in a series and hit play, at which point it would play all the subsequent files. Now it plays whichever object is first in the folder.

I had the back button functionality change back and fourth once before when I did previous updates. I was elated to find the function had been corrected and was quite sad to see it change again as I have no real means of going back to the root folder without going to media source. Very slow with a mildly hierarchical folder structure.

Is there any way I can restore this to the preferred functionality by back dating the firmware? Which version would I need? I have always used the auto-update option on the PCH which has no means for going backwards.
