Video Jukebox, Thumbnails for Home Video?

Hi - I am looking for an application for PCH 110 - something like Jalbum for viideo.

My goal is to generate a browsing structure for hundreds of short home videos. Most have numbered filenames so a thumbnail interface would be very useful. Something that automatically captured a still from a few seconds into the movie and turned this into a HTML browsing structure.

Any sugestions? My search only turns up jukebox apps dedicated to finding meta data for feature movies, and not making thumbnails.

I didn't do an extensive google search, so I couldn't find any free/open alternatives.

But here's one for Windows that I think does what you want:

Perhaps VLC or mplayer etc. can be called from command line to do something similar in bash or so. That would be a neat script...

Can Movie Flow be used to scan the videos in my internal HDD of popcorn and create a jukebox using PC similar like YAMJ. Since I don't stream my movies and all my collections are in HDD.

BTW, seeing your signature, curious about the "Photo Flow". Is it a Photo Jukebox similar kind, can you pls throw some light on that? May be on Music Flow too!
