RE: monoLite - Alternative NMT Player for TS files
I would like to use monoLite as a player for IPTV (m2ts stream) but I see that http is not supported as a source. Can this feature be added? What are the problems? I'd would like to help with this project, since there are no other alternatives to replace default mono player.

Hi,
the link in the first post does not work, is there a mirror?

If it is not possible to play http streams does monoLite play from a pipe?

Thanks

I'm not sure about monolite, but in general you should think 'hoops', not 'pipes'.
i.e. you have to jump through hoops to make your networked media player perform its primary function - play media from a network.

Just keep trying. My ISP is having some problems so their web server has been going up/down over the past few days. Sorry, the player only handles real files - no pipes or http.

Any chance of version for 200 series? They have real problems with many .ts files as it stands.

I know. I have C200 also and it handles TS files just as bad as the older players. I don't have access to the official Sigma SDK so it would take a long time to reverse engineer the C200 libs. It's possible but don't hold your breath waiting for it. Sad

I won't, but thanks for your efforts in the meantime.

The advantage of this solution (if working) would be to allow to power Off the NMT without having to re-install monoLite on the next Power On. Would it be?
.

This worked for me until I used CSI. I did a bit of investigation and found I could package your code fragment (with minor bug fixes) into a CSI installer package.

Happy to make this available, but not sure how (and does the original author give permission for this?)

That's fine by me. As long as someone can host the CSI version and I don't have to be responsible for maintaining it.

I realized there was a bug that caused the installer html/cgi to fail on some setups... Is that the bug you're referring to? Never released a fix because there wasn't much interest based on activity in this thread.

RE: monoLite - Alternative NMT Player for TS files
Will HD audio support be added?

This program is not useful to me. MKV time seek works beautifully. But why move to ts when MKV simply works?

The main reason for us to move from MKV to ts is that NMT will not recognize HD audio inside MKV container. This is the sole reason that we switch to ts format so we can enjoy HD audio. But major drawback in ts is the timeseek issue.

Now, this program monolite, can fix the timeseek issue but cannot recognize HD audio!

So, ultimately main objective (listening to HD audio) is defeated here!

RE: monoLite - Alternative NMT Player for TS files
I have a PCH-100 and no HD-audio compatible receiver so there is no way for me to work on HD audio support. This player is not really intended to replace MKV usage. It's mostly for people who record their own programming from satellite, cable, OTA, etc... since these sources usually produce TS files by default. If your source is MKV, there is no point converting it to TS.

Thanks for answering, wizziwig. If only it could have supported HD Audio inside ts, then many people would have bought it.

Thanks, again.
