Toshiba HDD1524 40GB Installation

I pulled this drive from an old iRiver mp3 player and was wondering if I could install it in my A-110 to get NMT apps? I guess there's only two possible issues (cabling and power). The drive says DC 3.3V. Any help appreciated!

Is it SATA or IDE?

If its IDE forget it, if its SATA then there's no cabling needed. Check the WIKI HDD Compatibility page.

I was hoping I might be able to use an adapter. To help avoid littering the site with retail websites, google '1.8" ZIF CE HDD to SATA Hard Drive Adapter Card' and click the first link. Is there any reason this shouldn't work in an A-110?

No not at all it should work with the right adapter.

3.5" HDD's are a none starter, no one has managed to get a 3.5" IDE HDD installed in the A110 to date. Plenty have tried and have modded their box but it just won't fit inside.

Now 2.5" HDD's are different again. There are threads on the forum with pics and specs of adapters to get it working, here is one:-

I thought it was 3.5" for some reason.

Thanks for the info Chris. I guess I'll give it a go and report back if it worked. Might be a decent solution if you already have a 1.8" form factor drive laying around!

Well, after buying the wrong adapter and realizing I'm an idiot for thinking it would work (sometimes scale is difficult to perceive when there's nothing shown in relation to something else!), I've got my Toshiba 1.8 form factor drive working in my A-110 with the adapter below! Thanks to cheaper_popcorn for the info.
