Please help me with NFS server on Snow Leopard (I have read the other threads)
Hi!

For some reason I cant get this simple task to work: Share folders through nfs on snow leopard. Even downloaded the NFS Manager for osx and I really need help.

Can you if you have had the same problem and solved it help me? It all worked so easilly on Leopard.

A quick step by step would be very much appriciated!! The NFS Manager says its shared, and when exploring NFS on NMT it just searches for a little while and then stops with a "cant find anything"..

I'm wondering why you don't use SMB?

It's how I've shared the drives on my iMac LAN since I got the A-100 in May, '08.

Just curious.

OSX is a true UNIX system and as most *NIX systems it comes with native support for both NFS and Samba protocol. NFS is faster than Samba and is the recommended protocol to be used for file transfers, especially for media playback.

I have not installed Snow Leopard yet on my iMac so I cannot really help you there, but there is a thread with the solution

I got it to work in Snow Leopard with NFS Manager once I clicked on "Show advanced options" and unclicked "System standard machanism". You need to do that for every share though.
