Firmware 01-15-080330-14-POP-402 (NMT 00-15-080320) released

Both the update of the firmware and the NMT applications went fine, files on internal HDD untouched.

- Still had several subtitle issues seeing the tags like </i>. I will check these subs to see if it's something in there or if the PCH bug isn't fully fixed.

- Lost HDMI signal twice right after watching a mkv file. PCH got back to the folder were the series are in (as it should) but before I could select the next file to see the screen went black. My receiver reported loss of HDMI signal. Had to reboot the PCH to continue.

with "nfs-tcp" option, i can use nfs finally now with vista64. thanks for that. myihome still missing as a service on screen though.

Same problem here with DVD playback of 2.35:1 films with S-video in PAL. If I set the DVD playback option in setup to 16:9 I still get 4:3 display which I have to zoom (on TV) to fit screen. Normal behaviour would be that the PCH should output anamorfic format which fits to the 16:9 or Wide setting on the TV set. Viewing in zoomed mode means a lot worse quality as a lot of resolution is lost.

I was really looking forward to a fix for this issue since there was talk of this problem in several places on the forum. I do hope this problem is recognized by the NMT/PCH staff now so it is being looked at for the next FW release.

OK - Here are the main points re new FW release (which seems buggy enough)


1.It is not possible to use Tversityt UpnP server.
Good news - it does show cyrillics correct without any extra setting needed like language etc., but the bad news is - when you try to play anything it just start buffering and then exits back to menu screen.

2.myiHome works with a strong limitations -
e.g. - it does not support cyrillics in file and folder names, does not matter which language you selected in Setup.

Those two above mean, that the easiest and fastest access method (UpnP HTTP servers) is unavalable.
On the other side - SMB works fine (one must set it up with user name and pass). But, it is well known, that the bandwidth is not enough to play the high stream HDs.
So, we need to go for NFS, but who knows, what is the situation re cyrillic there?

3.Anonymous (Guest account) access is no longer possible (for me this is a good news).
4.Auto mode does not work with regards to aspect ratio - one must set it up manually each time he starts other movie.
5.I didn't get to play a DVD folder - the unit just hangs while I am trying and it is possible to push it back by pressing STOP button.

So, my opinion - we must downgrade it and wait for an urgently coming bug fix for that FW, shell we?

If it works for SMB chances are that it works in NFS too.

As for the streamers; have you tried WizD, llink, Swisscenter, Oxyl, GB-PVR w/ mvpmxc2 etc?

Dumb question: I tried the codes to switch off the NMT but now...how do i get it to switch on again? The power+del combo didn't work for this.

On DVD iso file, navigation is not possible.
NEXT / REV to change chapter don't work.
MENU don't work to return to base menu of the dvd.

Still don't have a good aspect ration on PAL output in S-video or SCART.

I surely haven't. I've got stable installation with a Tversity and it works fine with other media client (DLink DSM520), as well as PCH with previous FW did, though without cyr support. Why should I breed the bloody ZOO on my system with other streemers? It just have to work!
