What is the "Newzbin" part of NZBGet all about?

Hi,

So I've installed NZBGet and have noticed the Newzbin tab. I'll put in my newzbin details, click save, and then what? What is this tab for?

Guessing it's so that you can use nzb id numbers somewhere?

After a couple of hard-refreshes I found the NZB ID tab so you can copy and paste the message ID to it. Nice stuff

Only problem I have now is that once something is downloaded, it'll extract etc all good, and then a couple of minutes later it'll start downloading the same thing all over again. I thought maybe the NZB wasn't being deleted from the scanned directory but the log says that it IS deleted...?

Hmm SAB has a completed directory, where it keeps all completed NZBs and won't download that one again (unless you force it). Dunno if NZBGet has that sort of thing.

Could be a permissions thing on the folder.

I've heard of other users having "double download" issues, but I'm not sure if it's the same problem you are having. These users also have this problem with regular NZB uploads as well though (not done with Newzbin IDs). You might try searching the forums to see if someone else has posted about this issue.

Also - what version of NZBget are you using? If you are using the one that comes with the PCH, you might try upgrading to the latest version which can be found on the community software installer (CSI). As of right now, the latest CSI version of NZBget is 0.7.0 (r342).

Your thread title reflects the original issue of not knowing what the Newzbin tab does in NZBget... so don't be surprised if no one checks this thread about the double download problem. You can update it by doing a full edit of the first post of the thread.

On a similar, but completely separate note you might be interested in NewzBook. It's a set of Newzbin / Usenet tools: Newzbin automatic bookmark downloader, newzbin mobile search, NZBget micro application, etc...
