Photos screensaver application?

Wouldn't it be nice to have a replacement screensaver that actually plays pictures from a /Pictures folder from example?

Any idea how to scrip this?

It would be really nice if the screensaver could also be configured to play music. This could either be from a specified directory, a play list, or from a favorite internet radio station. My SO would like an easy way to turn on some music, and feels it is usually not worth the trouble of navigating all the menus required to do this with the PCH. It would be great if there were a way to set up the PCH so that when it was left unattended it would eventually find its way into a default state of playing preselected music or radio. I could then say just turn on the receiver and select the popcorn hour input whenever you want music.
