I have 2 movies that UMC won't scan for Cover and Backdrop.
These movies are:
Orphan.mkv
The Taking Of Pelham 123.mkv

All Cover and Backdrop for all my movies are saved in: E:\backup\UMC\resources\Yanfoe Cover\
For the movie Orphan:
E:\backup\UMC\resources\Yanfoe Cover\Orphan[Backdrop].jpg
E:\backup\UMC\resources\Yanfoe Cover\Orphan[Cover].jpg

I made xml files for all my movies. It works for all movies except these two. I'll show you the one for Orphan.mkv
The xml file is named: Orphan[Movie].xml
The xml file is saved as utf-8

Or is UMC allergic for these two movies Wink

To be shure I looked at the blacklist for "orphan" but it's not in the blacklist. And besides the movie is listed in the frontend only the pictures are not shown. I also cleared the popcorn cache. Even in the generated scan-report PDF or HTML the movies are mentioned but no pictures.

Have you searched the log-files for that movie? Some informations about the pictures. Post all infos from the logs depending on that movie.

Searching for the word Orpphan (I added an extra p to see if it was the filename that gave problems, but it isn't).

I also searched for the imdb code in the umc.log file.
Orphan has got "tt2265157"
As you can see it didn't do the getcover part as it did for "tt0467197"

I searched for "Orphan" only with ONE "p" and got this:

Your IMDB: ...Orphan has got "tt2265157".... doesn't exist: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2265157/

Please correct the name of your file AND the IMDB-ID!

you 've got good eyes, the imdb code was incorrect found it myself, changed it but still the same problems. I now also have no covers for "bolt" and "hancock". So strange because before, it was oke. Everytime I do a rescan I delete all UMC program files and reinstall in a clean folder. and on the pch side I do a clean cache. I do reuse the UMC config file.

I'll try to do a new scan in the weekend with a fresh config file. hope this will help.

I downloaded UMC 1.83-fixed.
Installed it in a clean folder.
Created a new "umc-config.xml" file.
Did a scan on my 3 movies wich I all have pictures for on my harddisk and I have nfo/xml files.

Only "angles and demons" got cover and background and info / plot / year / cast / rating / etc.
"Bolt" and "Orphan" have nothing?

Mine always picks up "In the Cut" which was the first film I had to add because the scan never picked it up properly. Is Angels and Demons the first film you added?

EDIT:
I know you UMC guys are busy creating V1.9 (and we are greatful for that Smile

) but have any of you tried V1.83 set to English and tried a scan since some of us have been having these issues?

That is a good one.
what do you mean with the first film you added? I can't influence the scanning, I presume it scans alphabetically. I just made a test folder and I copyed these 3 movies to it with the pictures and xml file.

If you have any trouble you can wait for the next UMC version. It will be much better - especially the multilanguage support.

Exactly, I did new scans every few days when 1.83 was released. I'm convinced it must connect to themoviedb or similar to work even if you have images stored locally.

Sorry if I'm missing the obvious here but if V1.83 has stopped working (reason unknown) wouldn't you want to know why before you say V1.9 will work fine?

Could you comment on this Michel?

I read this morning that themoviedb has changed it's API and scrapers aren't working.

I tried a scan this morning using German but still got the same results.

I did find it very strange for something that has worked fine for weeks to suddenly stop working.

Doesn't "Omertron" (founder of YAMJ?) say it was his fault (in that link) because he hasn't updated the API on YAMJ or something similar?

Is it possible that because themoviedb API has changed means that UMC will need changing to suit and V1.83 won't work online until it does?

When I scan, the only local images that are used are group images that have xml's.
All my other stored images (that are normally used during a scan) aren't used.
It seams because UMC can't access online information nothing gets used.
Here is a pic from my backgroundworker, "My Stepmother is an Alien" has both local images, UMC finds and assigns the images but because it doesn't get anything online the result is an error and the scan moves on:
