RE: No longer access to CSI installed apps. CSI not working either
@lappe

I use CSI on OSX 10.5.8 without issues, apart from the mono gui quirks of course.

Consider a clean re-install of CSI: exactly what version did you install?
- Make sure you d/l the right one from nmtinstaller.com and don't use a previously downloaded installer.

If you have telnet on your NMT, poke around and see if anything funny is going on. Here are some longshots:
- check the user:group permissions on the share/Apps/: ls -al /share/Apps
They should be nmt:nmt

- use top command to see what happens when you attempt to use the CSI.
Not sure what to look for, possibly FTP server activity.

- can you start CSI Gaya manually?
If you have that installed already, that is...

Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn.

RE: No longer access to CSI installed apps. CSI not working either
It is not the connection from OSX that is the problem. Neither OSX NOR windows versions of CSI can access the PCH. And the apps on the PCH do not work either.

Unfortunately I have no knowledge of Telnet Sad But I do think something is has screwed up on the software side of the PCH. However I have so much data on it I can't afford to lose and no space to put it temporary if I need to format the drive.

You can reinstall NMT apps without deleting the media content, I believe it's called "Typical install".

I tried that, but it didn't help with regards to the CSI apps problems...

Another thing to try: make a firmware update/re-flash on the NMT, that should take take of any quirks on the NMT part.

There are instructions and details on the wiki.

Thanks! Any chance you could link to the specific article? I did update the firmware via USB without it solving the problem.

Sad RE: No longer access to CSI installed apps. CSI not working either
Subject says it all really:
  • CSI (2.6.2) does not show any installed apps
  • Apps installed previously (and successfully) don't seem to work anymore:
  • - cTorrent (idle at the time): Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at pch-a110:9002
  • - Telnet (which was working before) doesn't respond anymore
I checked the following:
  • Popcorn (a110) works fine when accessed through TV/remote: menu's, playing movies etc...
  • I can access the PCH through SAMBA
  • I can access the PCH through FTP (using the same credentials as set within CSI)
  • I can reboot the PCH through CSI
  • Tried reboot, power off/power on (red switch): won't help
The latest change I made was to add a webservice (through CSI!)
(and copy some movies to the Video folder using Samba)

I would really appreciate your input on how to tackle this...

RE: No longer access to CSI installed apps. CSI not working either
Post contents of file apps/appinit/appinit.cgi here.
Remove the apps/appinit folder and reboot the nmt. Use csi to install an application.

A quick check before I destroy anything...
  • There is no Apps/AppInit/appinit.cgi, just httpd.conf, version, version_online and websites (folder)
  • Will remove the Apps/AppInit folder require me to re-install the apps I installed before?

Lightbulb RE: No longer access to CSI installed apps. CSI not working either
O what the hell...
I did as you suggested: Removing the AppInit folder, install some app through CSI and reboot the PCH...
All my apps are back, no re-install necessary. Brilliant! Big Grin

Thanks again!

I'm experiencing exactly the same symptoms. Heres the contents on the appinit.cgi file. Hope it helps fix whatever the bug is.

I'll go remove the folder as you've suggested and report back on progress.

EDIT: Actually looking at that code, whats that Thomson Gateway malarky? Thats my router error page (i think), does that mean my connection dropped just as CSI was um...doing something?

RE: No longer access to CSI installed apps. CSI not working either
Correct. Instead of diwnloading the correct file your router replced it with an error page Remove the folder appinit and try again.
