Audio is breaking in MKV file
Hi,
I have d/l an mkv file with dual audio, but the first track audio is not prodicuing any sound, second track is working fine. I tried it from my Windows Vista PC, both audios are fine, i also remuxed it using MKVToolnix, and then the first audio track started to produce breaking sound. What is wrong? information from media info below: General Complete name : C:\Downloads\Cars.2006.720p.BluRay.DTS.x264[censored].Dual-Audio.mkv Format : Matroska File size : 4.52 GiB Duration : 1h 56mn Overall bit rate : 5 549 Kbps Encoded date : UTC 2009-11-17 05:20:32 Writing application : mkvmerge v2.9.7 ('Tenderness') built on Jul 1 2009 18:43:35 Writing library : libebml v0.7.7 + libmatroska v0.8.1 Cover : Yes / Yes / Yes Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L5.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 11 frames Muxing mode : Container profile=Unknown@5.1 Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC Duration : 1h 56mn Bit rate : 3 737 Kbps Nominal bit rate : 3 850 Kbps Width : 1 280 pixels Height : 536 pixels Display aspect ratio : 2.35:1 Frame rate : 23.976 fps Resolution : 24 bits Colorimetry : 4:2:0 Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.227 Stream size : 3.04 GiB (67%) Writing library : x264 core 56 svn-680 Encoding settings : cabac=1 / ref=8 / deblock=1:-3:-3 / analyse=0x3:0x133 / me=umh / subme=7 / brdo=1 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=0 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=2 / deadzone=6,6 / chroma_qp_offset=0 / threads=6 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / mbaff=0 / bframes=3 / b_pyramid=1 / b_adapt=1 / b_bias=0 / direct=1 / wpredb=1 / bime=1 / keyint=250 / keyint_min=25 / scenecut=40(pre) / rc=2pass / bitrate=3850 / ratetol=1.0 / rceq='blurCplx^(1-qComp)' / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=6 / qpmax=51 / qpstep=4 / cplxblur=20.0 / qblur=0.5 / ip_ratio=1.40 / pb_ratio=1.30 / aq=1:0.7:12.0 Language : English Audio #1 ID : 2 Format : AC-3 Format/Info : Audio Coding 3 Format profile : Dolby Digital Codec ID : A_AC3 Duration : 1h 56mn Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 192 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel positions : L R Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Stream size : 160 MiB (3%) Title : AC3 2.1 @ 192Kbps Language : Arabic Audio #2 ID : 3 Format : DTS Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems Codec ID : A_DTS Duration : 1h 56mn Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 1 510 Kbps Channel(s) : 6 channels Channel positions : Front: L C R, Surround: L R, LFE Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Resolution : 24 bits Stream size : 1.23 GiB (27%) Title : DTS 5.1 @ 1.5Mbps Language : English Text #1 ID : 4 Format : ASS Codec ID : S_TEXT/ASS Codec ID/Info : Advanced Sub Station Alpha Language : English Text #2 ID : 5 Format : ASS Codec ID : S_TEXT/ASS Codec ID/Info : Advanced Sub Station Alpha Language : French Text #3 ID : 6 Format : UTF-8 Codec ID : S_TEXT/UTF8 Codec ID/Info : UTF-8 Plain Text Language : Arabic Text #4 ID : 7 Format : VobSub Codec ID : S_VOBSUB Codec ID/Info : The same subtitle format used on DVDs Language : Arabic |

RE: Audio is breaking in MKV file
to complete the picture, i am using HDMI to an Onkyo 606 receiver then HDMI to LG 42" LCD.
The funny thing is that i tried to extract the first audio (AC3 2 channels arabic) in a a separate audio file, and it works great in the C-200..... |

RE: Audio is breaking in MKV file
Update:
When i demuxed the audio stream, it's duration is less than the video stream, which might mean that while muxing, the MKV file is instructed to do a stretch to match the sound with the video, does this make sense? May be the PCH can not handle proporly this time stretch.... any thoughts? Hady |
