when i start the upgrade by pressing of the online upgrade or via a USB the screen goes immediately black/off - this is where it stays for good (tried many times, even left it for the night).
i tried different HDMI cables, tried component cable, tried to set the box back to factory default... many tries and no go.
i know that the upgrade itself never starts because then when i power cycle the box it comes back with the current version.

Hello,

i think it is best for you to try updating via USB-stick.
Download and unzip the update to the root of the USB-stick, and then browse to usbupdate.html on the PCH menu.
Update the NMT apps seperately in the maintenance wizard.
