UMC Very disapointed
Maybe i am doing something wrong...
I played around with UMC for 3 days now. All my movies are indexed okay and play aswell, great stuff. I have a lot of TV series (all retail, in video_ts or ISO) I understand that video_ts is not supported for tv series, fair enough, i converted all my tv series to iso's When i scan my tv series, everything is indexed like it should be, Even my tv series are good. But when i go to UMC / TV Series / i click on my tv series, it simply wont play the iso file (avi no problem), i have a lot of retails because my wife isnt that good in english... What am i doing wrong, if not.. Is there anyone who uses the tv section? Plz need some help, i spended enough time on this now.. Regards Moi |

RE: UMC Very disapointed
There is a problem - certainly with the A110 Popcorn Hour boxes that they won't play a lot of .iso images - there's been many threads on it but as yet no fixes from Syabas - I belive from the reading I did when I was having problems with ISO files that they used to work and the problem has only appeared since a firmware update earlier this year.
You could try a few things :- 1 - roll back the firmware to an earlier version (possibly May 2009?) 2 - convert all your ISO files to avi/mkv or any other format that plays reliably 3 - extract the video files from your ISO mages and rebuild a new iso image using IMGBurn I gave up trying to play ISO's and now just use MKV or AVI files and convert from ISO whenever I have to Sorry it's probably not what you wanted to hear, but if you browse the forums and search for A110 and ISO problems you'll see what I mean |

RE: UMC Very disapointed
It cant be encouraging for developers who give their time to providing free products to the community, to see subject likes like this in the forums. Especially when the first line is 'Maybe i am doing something wrong...'

Especially when the first line is 'Maybe i am doing something wrong...' Perhaps there is a language issue as the OP is Dutch, but in general I agree, alot of Users are far too quick to blame the software without proper investigation; in this case the OP even admits it may not be the software's issue but still names the thread as a negative. Frustrating. |

RE: UMC Very disapointed
I agree that the title is wrong because it doesn't described the problem in this thread.
But the sentence 'Maybe i am doing something wrong...' is a normal start for a thread it indicates that he's clueless of what to do to solve the issue and he excuses himself that he´s not able to solve it. And that's why he reaches out to the forum. Perhaps the sentence is to directly translated into english. I'm absolutly sure that he doesn't mean any negative towards the developers with this sentence. anyway, I can't help you with this issue arno, sorry. I do watch series but still use the standard movie index page that comes with the popcorn. Only for movies I use umc at the moment. And I don´t have series in iso format only avi. |

RE: UMC Very disapointed
@Bazrah - yup maybe its a language thing.
@maxidio - I have no issue with the first sentence (its a very healthy attitude), just felt that the title didn't seem to sit right if the OP already acknowledges they could be doing something wrong. I suspect, with Bazrah's prompting, its probably just a language issue. Oversight: Jukebox | FeedTime: Automatic nzbs |
