Opening a movie from a custom-made webpage
Hi there,
Most of the movies that I have are in the internal hardrive, but it's alredy full and I'm starting to have more and more movies stored in some of my computer's HDDs, and I watch these through myiHome server. I've been trying to create a very simple web page, with the names of all the movies that I have, so that I just have to clic its name and the movie will start playing, regardless of where it's stored. The problem is that I don't know how to actually make the link so that it will start playing the movie. I've already checked some of the jukebox software that's around, but I always feel that they are too slow, and they don't seem to work very well if you have the movies stored in different locations throughout the network. This kind of software is based on html pages, as far as I know, so I guess it should be possible to create this web page on my own. I don't know if this is actually possible or if it's been already explained somewhere but I haven't been able to find the solution yet. So, does anybody know what kind of code is needed in the html in order to start playing a movie, or a tutorial where this is explained? Thanks very much in advance pako |

RE: Opening a movie from a custom-made webpage
YAMJ on the PCH should be able to auto create pages/links for sources on the hard-drive and for those on myIhome. You just list those in the sources configuration file..
You could update the config file and fire up YAMJ on these files and then get the exact links you need (by looking at the HTML source) if you still want to go totally custom... (11-29-2009 01:43 PM)pakobagur Wrote: Hi there, |

RE: Opening a movie from a custom-made webpage
Hi
thanks haggisbingo!! I re-did the whole process explained in the "YAMJ Step-by-Step setup for Dummies" thread with a couple of test movies, and got the piece of code that I needed: Code: <a class="link" href="file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK/Video/Movies/300/300.mkv" TVID="Play" name="Play" vod="">300</a>thanks |
