Vista Share problems.
I have a problem getting my popcorn hour to recognise the shared folders and drives in my home network. The shared stuff used to be in an XP computer and then it worked fine. But when I moved them to a Vista computer the problem started.

I have managed to get it to find them a couple of times, but sometimes if I reboot my computer or the Popcorn it looses them and can't find them anymore, even though I never changed any of the settings. I have no problem reaching the shared files from another computer (xp) in the network. I tried to install myihome and share from there, and it worked for a while, but not anymore. The popcorn can't even see the Vista computer except for "shared" folder, but it can see all XP computers. I have also tried to put some files in the Vista "shared" folder, and that works from time to time, but I can't have everything there.

Everything is connected via my home network with a Netgear router (modem) providing dynamic IP to the whole network, and a Netgear switch. I have tried using both smb and nrf config. No password, Vista sharing is set to Network discovery - on, File shareing - on, public folder sharing - on, printer sharing -off, password protected sharing - off, media sharing - on.

Vista Home Ed, 64-bit. Lastest avaliable service pack.

Anyone have any ideas?

RE: Vista Share problems.
I'm new to this as I have only recently got my Popcorn but I've just got all my shares working on Vista 64bit.

The way I have set it up is that on the windows PC I have shared a single directory in which I have linked to both an internal drive that is shared and network drives on an XP machine. I think that the PCH is only able to see one share at a time which is why I created a single shared folder for the PCH to access and by default pick up the shares.

I'm not certain if this is the configuration you are looking to create but if you are I can try to write down what I did to get it working.

Could you please advise exactly how you currently have the shares set up?
