NTFS and hard drive compatibility
I have a Popcorn hour A110.
1.) Will the Western Digital 1.5TB Caviar "Green" 3.5" drive work internally in the A110? It is not on the compatibility list. Maybe some user can report that it works? 2.) Which is better (less heat, less problems with using in A110) - Seagate 1.5TB 7200rpm , or Western Digital 1.5TB Caviar Green (5400rpm)? Seagate runs much hotter than Western Digital, so WD is a better choice as it will have a longer life? 3.) If I format my internal hard drive as NTFS, can I still copy files from my PC to the popcorn hour A110 with the USB slave port? 4.) Besides losing NMT applications, what other disadvantages in formatting NTFS over ext3? Is ext3 noticeably faster over NTFS? Thank you. |

RE: NTFS and hard drive compatibility
The only advantage I see, and it is a substantial advantage in a windows world, is the ability to write to the internal drive with a windows system(with USB).
