RE: Lighttpd - 1.4.26 with PHP-5.2.13 for C200/A200 - Updated 14th May
I installed the new version, but neither Download Manager nor File Manager ask me for Username and Password, no matter if I leave them to default values or I change them.

Mine's the same, however the reason appears to be that it's not starting up!

*something* is starting on port 9999, however it doesn't appear to be this newly installed version - the .daemonresult file contains the following message:

2010-05-18 20:42:51: (network.c.345) can't bind to port: 9999 Address already in use

I've tried manually restarting the service, and rebooting the popcorn. Neither helps.

OK, since no one reported after I updated the package, so I haven't added to CSI. Need to recompile again with mysql which was requested by accident.

True, few reports, maybe because this is not an app but just a dependency, but a pair above which never got a reply. Smile
Looks like login/password in File Manager / Download Manager don't work as expected..this was the main feature I expected from this update...would be great if you could detect what's wrong and find a way to fix it!

modified the daemon.sh and fixed the new lighttpd. It works fine on my C200. Password for Download Manager & File Manager has been enabled. username: admin & password: 123456

Thanks for the update. It's working perfectly now.

I've changed the username and password in httppass.conf - I've also changed the relevant user=x statements to match in the auth.require section. Everything appears to work as it should.

I must be missing something then...after installing it username and password work. But as soon as I change something in the httppass.conf file, I can't get past the login. Even just changing the password, without modifications to the login, makes me unable to login. Reverting back to default values doesn't help...I can't login till I uninstall and reinstall the whole. Tried with both IE and Firefox, and tried restarting lighttpd and Download Manager as well...

The same thing happened to me. Possibly the same steps you may have done. The current lighttpd needs some patch in daemon.sh script. So, it is not working via NMT startup, due to missing libs. I did the following and it was asking the password, nothing works.

I renamed the existing lighttpd directory to lighttpd.old and created a new directory with lighttpd as name and extracted the contents. Since the CSI will create the links under /share/Apps/AppInit/websites for all appinfo.json files under /share/Apps directory, it create a link for /share/Apps/lighttpd.old also. Since the new lighttpd was not working, it was starting with the old lighttpd with the user name & password profile from the new but the http pass file does not exist in the required directory. You can fix my completely remove all lighttpd versions and try the one from CSI.

I'll patch the new version and release via CSI.

NOTE: The above may be one the cause for asking password.
