Connecting popcorn with USB
Hi Guys,

Do I understand it correctly that if I want to be able to connect my popcorn with USB to my PC, I need to format the popcorn with an EXT3 format and install a EXT2 driver on my PC?

And the EXT3 is the only format atm which gives writing possibilities?

Regards,
Andri

RE: Connecting popcorn with USB
An external drive will need to be EXT3 if you want the Popcorn to write to it, but it will read from NTFS. The new firmware for the C-200 is supposed to have NTFS read and write capabilities though.

Yes, you'll need Ext2 IFS or Ext2 FSD for your Windows PC to see the USB drive. If you leave it connected to your Popcorn (and it's ext3) you can write to it over the network. This may not be a good option if you've got lots to transfer!

Thanks for the quick response,

"An external drive will need to be EXT3 if you want the Popcorn to write to it".

I assume the same rule applies if I will be using an Internal HDD, It will still have to be in EXT3 so I can write to the disk?

Andri

What popcorn model is it? Post in the correct forum section would have saved us asking, i'll move it when we know what model.

If it is a A110 then follow this guide:-

If it's an A-110 then the Popcorn will format to ext3 for you. I think that's the link Chris provided.

Sorry about that, yeah it's the A-110, so when I will go through the NMT Setup Wizard the Popcorn will automaticly format my HDD to EXT3?

Andri

I think it'll give you the option when you run the setup for the first time - simple!
