RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD)
I have want to put files from my laptop to my pch hdd by the network.
What is the best way to to that? I have searched many times on this forum but I couldn't find a good answer. I want to install CSI but I can't connect to the hdd from my pch A-200. I hope there is another way to copy and delete files over the network. Popcorn Hour A-200 Receiver: Onkyo 507 (HDMI) 5.1 speaker set-up 1080i LCD TV (Philips) |

If you want to copy/transfer files from a PC to your NMT, your normal option would be to use an FTP connection. With FTP you can add and delete files. Use FileZilla, for instance. Make sure the NMT Apps are installed on your NMT (Apps.nmt file is in the firmware package from popcornhour.com, which you can download and put on a USB stick) - with the FTP service enabled (in the NMT Settings menu, where you also install the NMT apps). Some NMT's you can connect directly to a PC via USB cable, I think the A-200 has a USB slave port on the back panel. Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD)
NOTE!
If you have media on your HDD already, you want to have them backed up first, prior to the NMT Apps installation. The setup is easy. Just download the firmware package from popcornhour.com. Extract the Apps.nmt file to a USB stick and insert to your A200. Go to the NMT Settings/Maintenance page and select Install NMT Apps, or something along those lines. Choose to install from USB. (Or skip the above and choose to install from the online sources...) Once the NMT Apps are installed, the NMT reboots. Now go to NMT Settings again and you should have an NMT Apps page where you can start/stop the NMT Apps services, such as FTP server, SMB server, NFS server etc. Start the FTP server and now you can start using the CSI to install all kinds of goodies! If you have some troubles with this, please post in a new thread, otherwise we'd go offtopic in this one. Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

I'm trying to install NMJ 0.1 version from Vaydasir, using install from file option. But once selected the file, zip, the click on next just doesn't do anything. After I can go back but I can not exit CSI.

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD)
Hi all, I'm trying to get CSI ver 2.7.0 to work as I've tried installing apps thru and it would always prompt the error message below,
"Connection error while trying to connect to Network Media Tank. Please check server settings in "Server/Hardware settings" in Extra menue. Also make sure you have the FTP server running" I know the ftp is working as I'm able to access it via the IP address using Filezilla. Instead of using the hostname PCH-A100 (used 192.168.2.2:21) instead. Here's the errorlog.csv Code: 27/11/2010 14:41:49;Error;WebException during install method of UploadInstaller; No such host is known; at com.nmtinstaller.csi.Utilities.FtpCommands.SendCommand(String server String username String password String command Boolean keepOpen) in F:\Ger Data\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\NMTApplicationInstaller\trunk\Utilities\FtpCommands.cs:line 571 - at com.nmtinstaller.csi.Utilities.FtpCommands.SetExecutePermissions(String server String username String password String filename Boolean keepOpen) in F:\Ger Data\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\NMTApplicationInstaller\trunk\Utilities\FtpCommands.cs:line 530 - at com.nmtinstaller.csi.Utilities.HttpCommands.StartScript(String server String script) in F:\Ger Data\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\NMTApplicationInstaller\trunk\Utilities\HttpCommands.cs:line 154 - at com.nmtinstaller.csi.Utilities.UploadInstaller.InstallThread() in F:\Ger Data\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\NMTApplicationInstaller\trunk\Utilities\UploadInstaller.cs:line 180Any insights? Thanks in advance. |

Use the faq from first page.

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD)
Hi Ger Teunis,
Sorry for the confusion. I used the hostname IP instead of the hostname (PCH-A100) instead. I've looked thru the FAQ on the first page and I'm still unable to figure this out.

Trolled the forums but could not find a working solution. i was able to ftp via another software to the a200, but got the "make sure you got the fpt server running" message in CSI. Thanks man i've been going nuts here trying to figure out why this wasn't installing. I also got the same issue, error 550 on both win764 and my vista32 machine. Running it in winxp compatibility mode fixed my connectivity issue. |

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD)
Hi,
I've used CSI in the past to install apps and stuff, and its worked flawlessly. However now when I run CSI, it "connects" to the pch, but it doesnt show installed apps, and if I try to install a new one it fails. Transmission also has ceased to function via the web interface, however oversight still works. Whuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuaats up? |

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD)
Is direct installation via FTP possible?
CSI does not connect to my network at all. I fired up Wireshark and watched all traffic to the IP address of my C-200. ftp works fine (and packets show up in Wireshark). The installer never sends a single packet. Firewall is open, I tried both name & IP address, apps are up to date, No odd files on NMT. So, is there some way to install this directly via FTP and simply bypass the installer? |
