load hd on bootup
is there any way to have the pch select the hard disk automatically on boot up (so the sources screen is not shown) ?

what are you trying to do exactly?

Hmmm no not really... mono.wrapper will make it load quicker, but you'll still see the sources menu briefly.
The only thing i've ever seen that made you not see it was start.cgi and some of the other program like llink and, (i'm blanking on the other one...i'll edit this later when i think of it).
