Hmmm seems i got the detection problem with my tv to work. I changed the video settings from auto to 1080p 50hz (Sony bravia KDL-40W5500) and it now works every time.
Instead i found that sound stutters when playing Matrix MKV file (1080p and 5.1 dolby digital). This stutter seems only to happen when the sound spikes to more than 700 Kbps. Dont know if this helps to work out the problem, but it would be very nice to get fixed or else it just gets annoying to watch the movies. The audio is transferred via optical cable to my receiver. This file did play fine on my old A-110, so surely it should be possible for the A-200 to play the file. |

Hi simon,
Is the file located on the internal hard disk or on a network share? If on a network share, is it gigabit? If so, please go to SETUP and force your A-200s NIC to 10/100 and see if that helps get rid of the stuttering. Have you checked that your NMT applications are turned off during the playback? The reason why i persist with the network are simple : data protection...
I use SecondCopy to synch my 1.5 G Drive (NMT) with a 1.5 G drive on my NAS. The copy are automatic every 2 days... and it synch only new/modify stuff... so if the date change, it is consider by Secondcopy "new stuff"... now, i synch from the NAS to the NMT (because i change the 500 G drive with a 1.5 G).. after that, my profile will be re-normalized ! (from NMT to NAS every 2 days)... It took me 24 hrs with my old A100 to synch 500 GB from the NAS to the NMT... with the A200, it's still synch... 3 days later... and i expect it will be finish in 5 hrs.. It as been started the 3-03-2010... at 21hrs... So the A200, are 3 time slowler then my old "refurbished" A100 ... At the end... if my NMT burn, crash, failed.. i don't loose the movie ! Also, everything are connected to a UPS ! Is it something we can do to, at least, having the same transfert speed i have with the A100 ? |

The wierd thing is that the matrix movie(s) played fine on the A-110 (also internal hdd). Maybe ill take this problem to the right forum! |

I received yesterday the a-200. installed the firmware update to the last level. When i try to play a mkv file i get the message "could not play". I tried about 11 mkv files and they all give the same message. They are play from a NAS box.
When i try to play a VIDEO_TS DVD mapping it is also not working. The only thing thats working are MP3 files en VOB files. What's wrong? Reboot? apply last firmware again....? |

so after only 3 days my A-200 stopped booting up. I was able to get the company I bought it from to swap me for a new one. I took the hd out of my original one and put it in the new one and then tried to do the firmware update over the net, but would get a black screen. After about 15 mins I unplugged it and took out the hd, put the firmware update on a usb, and am trying to do the update that way, but same thing...black screen now for 15 mins...any suggestions? Have I got a second bum unit or am I missing a step?

We are only aware of the info you give us here, if you describe things too briefly it becomes very difficult to troubleshoot. After the update failed the first time and you pulled the plug, were you able to boot up successfully all the way to the source menu? What hard disk (make and model) have you been using? Have you changed the video output settings? The black screen could indicate loss of HDMI sync. To turn off the unit, first press power on the remote for 4 seconds, wait for the LED to finish blinking and go solid red. Only after that, try to pull the plug. Do NOT use pulling the plug as a general shutdown procedure. Especially not with a hard disk inside, there is a risk of corrupting your data or hard disk. I know the sound works as because if I play the internet radio the sound works. I have everything set to the defaults right now...anyone have some thoughts on this one for me? |

I know the sound works as because if I play the internet radio the sound works. I have everything set to the defaults right now...anyone have some thoughts on this one for me? Two thoughts: 1. There is a bug where you lose mp3 and flac audio after playing back a DVD or BD structure. Resolved by a full reboot, so shut down the player completely (press and hold the power button until the LED starts blinking, then release and wait for it to go solid red.) When solid, pull the plug. Wait a couple of minutes, then reinsert the plug. 2. When playing back a file, use the Page up and Page down buttons to make sure the volume is set to 0.
