LFE channel missing when downmixing
When I use PCH's downmixing to stereo with multichannel sound the LFE information is missing.
Any ideas? |

RE: LFE channel missing when downmixing
Its not missing....2 channel doesn't have an lfe signal. It send full frequency to your left and right channels and your reciever will cut off any sound that is below the crossover freq that you have your reciever set to.
The solution I use for this is to set my bass out to "both" on my receiver. |

RE: LFE channel missing when downmixing
The audio is connected to a stereo amplifier without a crossover. I have connected 2 speakers that are capable of producing very low frequencies and they are missing. I test it with 5.1 channel test and when the LFE channel is tested there is nothing on the speakers.

So....you have speakers connected to a 2 channel stereo receiver that I'm assuming doesn't have a subwoofer pre-out? Whats the make and model of the stereo? And you have the PCH set to "Stereo" in the settings not 5.1? |

RE: LFE channel missing when downmixing
Actually I did this test in my friend on his setup. I should check the audio settings - stereo/5.1.
The amplifier is an old Yamaha AX-700 without subwoofer pre-out. The speakers are DIY fullrange. If I use computer's downmixing there is LFE information with the test. |

I would say the PCH is probably set to 5.1.
If thats not the case then IDK... |

It is set to Stereo but with 5.1 it is the same. The audio is output from analog RCA.
