Why in network set up ethernet configuration only the choices automatic and 10/100Mpbs i thought Popcorn c-2 had a netwerk speedalso of 1000 Mpbs
In the manual 9.4 Ports and connectors they mention 10/100/1000 Mbps (RJ45 LAN |

RE: Network speed
automatic = 1000/100/10
10/100 = do not do 1000..... connection becomes unstable with some network devices if speed is set to 1000... RE: Network speed
No I think the issue is more with switches on the Ethernet level... what you are seeing is that one protocol can deal better with it than others...

It's more to do with what the A200/C200 can handle then switches or protocols. SMB works better, because SMB places less demand, put simply is much much slower then say FTP, SMB has smaller block size, diff flow control. You can simply remove the switch (crossover), attempt FTP gig transfers and watch the C-200 crash. Wish to blame the PC now, the OS, Drivers, Cables, Planets? Have you ever attempted different (smaller) MTU sizes on the C-200, try it, you will notice that things start to get more stable and in fact performance is very good. Not saying it's a solution, just an observation, consistent with smaller blocks. I'am not saying all switches are perfect either, hey But seriously can we stop blaming switches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

RE: Network speed
Come on All I'm saying is the C200 has issues at level2 with certain switches... blame is on the C200 sure..... that was not the point..
