Problem with playing up files , reason unknown :S
Hi all

yesterday i tried to start a movie format AVI. i pressed the button the screen turned blue (as it always do) but just before i thougt the movie / menu should start nothing happen and im coming back right to the menu i was when i was selecting the movie.

I dont know what the problem is, i am using smb (Samba share) from my computer and stream between a extended hard drive to my popcorn hour. It have worked fine without a problem with streaming & playing a couple of months until yesterday and i havent done anything diffrent.

i also tried to play both img & iso files but still nothing happens, it says sometimes " buffering " but it just throw me back to my previous menu screen where i selected the file.

i also tried to play music, viewing pictures but its the same problem here.

Hope someone here can help me with this mather ? what can be worng ? what should i do to get this working again .

thanks in advance Big Grin

Which NMT are you using?

Have you done a cold reboot of the player to see if that helps?

Media tank:A-100 & C-200
TV:Panasonic TH-50PY800MT (HDMI)
Audio:Logitech Z-5500 (Coaxial)

Try playing an avi file from a USB stick inserted in the NMT.

Also try going to Setup>Maintenance> Press 'filemode' on your Remote and then press enter on Clear Cache.

For anymore help you'll have to give us more information.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI
CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407

I actually have the same problem from time to time using my c-200.

I press play, black screen or loading symbol for a sec and then yamj returns to the details page. I have 4 libraries and the funny thing is that sometimes 1 library works and the others don't etc.

That's nothing to do with the C200 and everything to do with mounting multiple shares. The NMT only mounts one share at a time, it remembers the last successfully accessed share. So if your file happens to be on that share it will play, if it is on a different share then you have to go out of YAMJ, play a file from that share using normal SNB access and then renter YAMJ and then play the file.

For the 100 series there are a couple of apps written such as mono-wrapper that sort out this issue.

Search for the thread of that title 'mounting multiple shares'.
