3D on C200 ?? [split] [C-200] Firmware

With so many vendors (Samsung, Panny, Sony, Vizio, etc.) touting forthcoming cheap 3D TV sets by the end of this year, any PCH firmware upgrade coming for the 3D feature?

The new 3D blu-ray players and tv sets are on the HDMI 1.4 spec. The PCH is on HDMI 1.3a. The former is needed due to higher bandwidth requirement for 3D functions.

Hardware limitation on PCH. Even if we do see some kind of 3D implementation on the PCH, and this is a big IF, I am guessing it will only be pseudo-3D.

Not entirely true. Full 3d requires a hdmi 1.4 connection, but software can enable a 1.3 cable with a 10.2 gigabit/sec bandwidth to do 1080i 3D. Example will be the ps3

There are different 3D techniques, some of which work over a HDM1.3 output. This doesn't apply to the Blu-ray standard which I believe is included in HDMI 1.4a.
You would still need the 3D glasses with any system.
