FileMode and NAS
Apologies if this has been posted before but I've been searching for the last hour or two for an answer and can't find one.

I initially wanted a way to mark episodes as viewed and came across a couple of feature requests and some answers pointing to various jukeboxes. To be honest I'd rather keep the popcorn hour vanilla as it serves its purpose fantastically.

Whilst searching through these articles someone mentioned that they used a 'viewed' folder and move files using the FileMode after they've watched. This sounded like a perfect solution as this is more or less what I do after watching.

My setup is a Popcorn Hour A-110 connected to a NAS (DNS-323) via smb, I don't have an internal hard disk. I tried the the FileMode 'move' as outlined in the post I read and the file remains unmoved. I suspect this is due to the way the media is being shared.

Is there anyway I can make this work or would my only solution be to install an internal HD?

RE: FileMode and NAS
you'll need read/write access to the share with both folders accessible in the same share, it should work...

ReadyNAS NV+ w/4TB & Pro Business w/12TB
PCH A-100 w/150GB 3.5" HDD - Philips 42" LCD 1080i HDMI - Sony Soundbar
PCH A-110 w/400GB 2.5" HDD - Sony WEGA 50" DLP 1080i HDMI
PCH C-200 w/500GB 2.5" HDD & LG CH08 BD - Samsung 61" DLP 1080p HDMI - Onkyo TX-SR606

RE: FileMode and NAS
Thanks for the quick reply.. ah ok at least its a permissions issue rather flat out not going to work. I'll play with the permissions etc and see if I can get it to work.
I've just checked and the files and folders are all 777. So it should have permissions to move. The structure is similar to the following;

mount\movies\ToWatch
mount\movies\ToSort

The movies and the ToWatch/ToSort are all chmod'd to 777 along with all files... they are owned by the user 'nobody' and it doesn't seem to work Sad

RE: FileMode and NAS
not familiar with your NAS model, but you should be able to access file operations from PCH as well as from your PC to be able to move and delete files on your NAS, this certainly sounds like a permissions issue, not sure I can help further, sorry...

RE: FileMode and NAS
Rather sheepishly I must admit I found out the problem. Rather than using the existing mounts on the NAS when I was setting up the popcorn I created a new one to save me typing in large paths. I shared this as a read only mount hence the issues with moving. Ta for the help
