Music Jukebox generation for use from two PCH
Hello,
I have run into a small issue that I don't know how to solve (except by buying another HDD to duplicate their, again , all my music. Let me explain. I have one PCH A-200, with internal HDD, it is connected to an SD TV I have also an A-110, with nothing in it. This one is connected to a full HD TV. It is connected to a network share to the A-200. And it is working fine. I can stream movie, and play some songs as well. (By the way, it could be exactly the same if accessing the same NAS from two PCH) But the A-110 is in the living room, and mostly for the use of my wife, so I'd like to make this user-friendly. What I would like to do is to use Music Jukebox to generate the usual Music menu, for Both my access (from the A-200, and from the A-110). So first I generate the menu for the A-200 use, and ask it to be generated in a directy on the A-200 HDD /Music/jukebox_1 Then I use it again, but to generate menu for the A-110, and put it on the A-200 /music/Jukebox_2 Of course, the main difference between them are the SD/HD look, and also the path to the songs and menus (on the internal HDD for A-200, but over a NETWORK_SHARE for the A-110) Basically, it almost work, but the only problem I face now is the for each album, the playlist is written in the album directory, and they overwrite each other. Recall that there is only one HDD. In the order above, my the "play all" button of an album menu would work only on the A-110 (the last one generated) but not on the A-200, because the playlist points to song over the share, that exist only on the A-110. I hope you can understand my explanation... What would you advise in my case? ![]() The only thing that don't work is this Album playlist thing. Isn't there a way to name differently the playlist in both case and have that name use in the menus? Otherwise, Menu appear and navigate as expected, and I can always play individual song, but the Shuffle and play all does work only on one of the two PCH (because they point to an incorrect playlist) If you do not see any workaround, the only approach I will see is to put and HDD also in the A-110, at least for the music, duplicate all song on the 2 PCH, and generate individual music jukebox. But it is a lot for not so much ![]() Thank all for your help, VdL Vdelab PCH A-200 with internal Samsung Spinpoint F1 1To -32MB cache PCH A-110, no HDD Home networked through Netgear Switches 1Gb with 3 PCs (Main one on dual boot Ubuntu 10.04/Vista; 1 on Vista; one on XP) Logitech Harmony 885 |

RE: Music Jukebox generation for use from two PCH
perhaps use m3u playlist for the A200 and playlist for A110 so both of them could cohabit in the same dir and as the menu and parameters are separate , this could work
never tried , but could be a solution |

RE: Music Jukebox generation for use from two PCH
I may have ound a solution, that I will test tonight.
It would be to create on both PCH a share with the same name: Music. The, on the A-110 (with HDD), to point to the A-200/share/Music as before, and on the A-200 (with the HDD, and there is the trick) to create a share pointing to itself (NFS, to same IP address, folder Music) also called Music. So on both menu, the path will be NETWORK_SHARE/Music. I just tried for the Play all, and it works. Question : regarding perfo, is it enough for the 200 to look to himslef through a network share? I'll do it only for music anyway... so less stream. I just keep having trouble for the shuffle. I don't know why it does not work (myhome is active), but it is probably another issue. I try this solution further and put it at solved. Keep you posted don't hesitate if any other idea arise. Hello,
thanks to inquire. No I did not try your solution... The one I tried is fine, define share with the same name is ok.
