App for downloading subtitles?
hi all ! Is there any app that could download the subtitles from a source page like subscene.com or any other by browsing the video files at your NMT and downloading them from the source in case there is no subtitle associated to the file?
I think it would be a great addition, specially if you use something to get files from a news feed. Thanks for the answers |

RE: App for downloading subtitles?
YAMJ and many other PC/Mac client subtitle scraper applications exist already, but something that runs straight on the NMT without the need of a PC does not exist yet, AFAIK (possibly a PHP script that PoPEye released for llink, but I think that was for a Swedish-only site?)
I've made a simple proof of concepts; a PHP script on the C200 that scans a folder and downs appropriate subs from sources such as Opensubtitles.org (OSO), Subtitlesource.org and a Swedish-only site (undertexter), but my development got halted by other priorities in life, so it's a rather dirty deed. I know a few others are having plans for this, for example Lordy's Oversight project. Lordy & co. are pro's, compared to my humble knowledge, so I think they'll do a much better job at finalizing something usable/stable. If we had python on the C200 it would be trivial to install already available apps such as http://subdownloader.net/ - which comes in a CLI version that could be invoked from scripts/cronjobs etc. Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. well there are many great apps for the NMT, so if someone knows how to develop this would be a nice addition

RE: App for downloading subtitles?
You can try sublight http://www.sublight.si/GetSublight.aspx, it works great with manual download, and there I think there is a function than downloads all the subtitles in the directory...
