I like this idea, Accident. I can't speak for the genpop, here, but I know that I personally only own a 200 series box, and as such I'm accustomed to asking questions in those forums. I have to remind myself, when looking for answers to certain questions about skins and etc., that the only forums with any traffic are the 100 series forums. The proposed change would clear up a lot of confusion for those in my position.

most jukebox questions are about the non-platform specific needs so there is no split between 100 and 200 series.. umc 100 series frontend is close to coming out and that makes no difference to 99% of the questions which is about running umc to scan.. same with yamj, same with oversight.. If anything 100 users seeing what they can't do on 200 series units might want to update if they were mixed...

I'll throw this out to see what's suggested. If we have a Jukebox Section then how would you design it, you cannot increase the forum section numbers. So something like:-

Jukeboxes
-YAMJ
-UMC
-Oversight
-Other Jukeboxes
-Music Jukeboxes

Presently these are:-
YAMJ 2 sections
UMC 1 section
Other Jukeboxes 2 sections and 1 subsection

With NMJ added in a section of it's own when launched.

Simple and easy to navigate.

The reason why there were seperate sections for the 100 & 200 sections was primarily Flash, but YAMJ development has not managed a Flash skin yet and besides YAMJ as is is strong enough for many to stick with it even when Flash skins are out for other jukeboxes.

We are always trying to make things as everyone would like, Excal is our Jukebox Mod in my mind and i'll ask him to have a think as well.

looks good to me, I don't really hit the other/music sections but is there enough traffic in them to warrant 2 separate forums or should it be a Music and Other Jukeboxes

We could drop the Music Jukebox section, the inference being that they are in the Other Jukebox section. Music Jukebox 8 is a good example of a well used Music Jukebox, michael's jukebox of a video one.

'Other Video & Music Jukeboxes' perhaps?

Skins could be added so:-

Jukeboxes & Themes
-YAMJ
-UMC
-Oversight
-Other Video & Music Jukeboxes
-Themes

The 200 Series Skins & Webservices becoming PopApps and the 100 series section being cut/moved into the new Themes section.

Another idea, in the other forum perhaps the main release thread for every jukebox app should be made sticky to help users find the releases and not the trouble posts???

Without wishing to flare up the matter, so closing the thread, but to give total clarity/openness I have remembered why I thought that Michael s Jukebox cost money.

When it was first launched it required output from Movie Collector which costs around $30. Apparently this is no longer a requirement, something of which I was blissfully unaware, and therefore now as there is no requirement for software that costs to be able to use Michaels jukebox app it joins the ranks of the other free to use jukeboxes. A great step forward and one that more people should be aware of, myself included.

I don't particularly feel that I should apologize, as I'm sure everyone can understand that it would be impossible to keep up to date in all aspects of the NMT, plus in addition calm reasoned discussions could have led to the discovery of why I and at least one other had the understanding that it did cost. Taking things personal for a simple misunderstanding only made matters distasteful and were uncalled for in my opinion. I may have stood on a raw nerve but it was certainly not known and therefore unintentional. At the end of the day we are talking about home AV equipement which we buy to play movies, we aren't splitting atoms or saving lives.

The comments with regards the forum sections will be taken forward for discussion and hopefully implementation after consideration.
