Who is willing to develop a "Transportstream" appl
Hi
is there anybody out there who would be interested in trying to develop the following application: The HTDV Satellite Receiver Technisat HD S2 is able to record on an internal harddisc. The files there can be accessed via LAN (Technisat offers a freeware application called Mediaport - http://www.technisat.de) - I guess, this software just establishes some sort of "share" connection (ftp???) and transfers the files. They end up on my computer as ts4-files (nothing else but transport streams) where I can remux them with the "Kaba-Tool" (http://www.hdd-player.de/phpBB2/index.php?topic=2779.0 - a special version of TSremux) and end up with a .ts-file, that the NMT can play back (I usually later on transfer them to NMT's harddisc and play them back from there). So: wouldn't it be possible to create an application, that could be installed on the NMT and run from there, that a.) "logs" on via LAN to the Receiver b.) shows a list of the recordings on it harddisc c.) can select the files to be transferred d.) transferes and remuxes the selected files and stores them locally on the NMTs harddisc? The idea behind this is to cut out all these unnecessary steps involving a computer, since in the end, it all comes down of "only" transferring the files from the Receiver to the nmt in the proper format.... Since there are quite some Satellite-Receivers with LAN-Ports out there, this could be a helpful application (I guess, this application could be easily adapted to other models, too). I am no programmer, but in theory, this does seem to me like something, that could be done, since the source-code of the "Kaba-Tool" is available and the ability of the NMT to access shares over LAN is already a feature (one would only need to know how to log on to the receiver, which maybe can be done by looking, how Technisat's Mediaport-software is doing that.) Since there is no real processing/format-conversion of files required, I could also imagine, that such an application does not require a lot of processing power from the NMT. Any ideas on that? Anybody willing to contribute? P.S.: please don't get confused by the other options, that Mediaport offers, such as DEmuxing, creating DVDs etc. - I am just referring to the "transfer-function" of that software, since it obviously can establish a connection to the receivers HD via LAN and transfer the files to a computer.... |

Just rename the file to mpg instead of ts and it will work fine in the PCH. The other stuff I have no idea about. If they just added ts as a valid "ending" for a video format I think all you need to do is add the harddrive in your box as a network drive and it should work right away from the pch.
