Popbox not = Netflix, Now what?
First off I know that this has been beaten to death as a topic for the 200 Series of NMT devices, so don't get too mad when you read my post Angle

I guess there will never be a PCH or Popbox that can do proper and native Neflix Support. I was going to get a popbox for the Netflix support, but now what? It mysteriously shipped without support. I don't want to use the half baked support that I could get through using Playon when using my C-200.

I haven't scoured the forums for answers on this, but I did read a few threads full of rants about how "the c-200 will never have native Netflix support" or "the only way your gonnna get neflix to play on the c-200 is through playon" or "even though the c-200 can handle the proper DRM they'll never give it netflix support because it's not a closed off enough platform like the roku"

At least there was this from the Popbox PR Team (Hopefully it's a real quote from a real source): "PopBox wants to have as many apps on the platform as possible at launch but we don’t have the final lineup quite yet. The great thing about the platform is that it updates easily, so while I can’t confirm either way that Netflix will be available at launch just yet, we do hope to have Netflix on the box as soon as possible."

There has never been a valid an official response that I've been able to find. I guess it comes down to demand and feasibility. I think because most people now have proper and working PlayOn support and that Netflix is for American, and more recently, Canadian users it just isn't a valid feature to implement.....yet in the PCH series of NMT devices. Maybe the new SDK and NMJ UI will open the door for this type of premium content? Maybe not?

Thanks for your input everyone. Tongue

RE: Popbox not = Netflix, Now what?
I got a Roku when it was on gold box sale at Amazon. $99 for the HD-XR. You can get a wired one for $99.

I wish I had gotten it a while ago.

Or you can get one of the blu-ray players with it. or a WD Plus?

Lot's of options. Just buy a device for $99 or so and move on. You can always sell it later if netflix every comes to the PCH/Popbox.

PCH C-200 500GB 2.5 HDD + CH08LS10-> HDMI -> Onkyo 607 -> Samsung
LNT-5271F -> Harmony 880

I don't know where you were, but the PopBox not having Netflix when it shipped was known well before the ship date. It was no surprise based on what info had been released from the PopBox team.
If it had shipped with Netflix, then that would have been surprising.

RE: Popbox not = Netflix, Now what?
Im guessing that the popbox is waiting on Netflix since its their application.

Hopefully Netflix do not have a dumb agreement like they have to sell X amount of devices before qualifying for the license. Netflix can be a PITA when they are ready.

PCH A-200 16GB USB -> HDMI -> Samsung LN46A650 | A200 -> Toslink -> Logitech Z-5500 (Harmony 700)
PCH C-200 8GB USB -> HDMI -> Sharp LC46D64U (Harmony 550)

I knew well before it shipped that it wasn't shipping with Netflix, but what info was released by the pop box team before hand?
