I'd go for the WD Live Plus. Canada Computers has it for 10$ more than the WD Live.

Hi,

I have updated this firmware. now it does not connect to external website like torrent, internet radio, you tube etc. However it does connect to internal network.

What should I look into? I cannot find network testing?

Please advise

VIDEO_TS over SMB (SMB share on NAS) works but I get stutter in playing, not all the time but if it starts stuttering it won't go back to normal (network buffer problem?).
When the same VIDEO_TS folder is copied to the internal harddrive it works ok.

I went back to the previous firmware and VIDEO_TS smb play is fine again!

Well since installing this firmware update the installed hard drive in my A-110 won't turn off. I had issues with it randomly turning on a few times a day for years previously, I expect due to computers doing network discovery but now it won't stay off. Using the remote power button it spins down for about a minute and then just spins back up again.

Anyone else getting this issue?

It appears all the services are running, would disabling any of them help? The only one I really use is FTP.

hi all new member just trying to let someone know that the download for 00-17-091216-15-POP-403 doesn't work for me either by direct d/l or pch upgrade.Firmware 01-17-100516-15-POP-403-000was upgraded fine .please advise if i am only one having this problem.Ozmo

Latest firmware from August also fails here for A110, I can no longer play MKV files which had no problem before. Contact me if you need to duplicate the problem. I am going to try and revert to a previous firmware version.


UPDATE:
The firmware does play the older MKV files as it had before. The reply problems occurred after hitting some kind of glitch in a newer MKV file. I will have to do more testing to see what the problem may be with this particular encode -- the sample is playing fine, but the full length encode playes a quick blip of sound at the beginning followed by complete blackness, yet the counter on 'info' increases as time progresses -- indicating that it's 'playing'.

Just experienced the identical problem where an MKV file will not play but after the initial picture flash and sound blip there is just a black screen as described.
