And this has what to do with the topic.Huh

Besides it is not a definate it is only a 'may offer' and as we know people may do all sorts of things, what they actually do is the point.

Did you see any pricing already?

My guess is, sell the old model and buy new one will give better value - assuming replacing the Mobo on your own won`t be possible/allowed.

Besides - no time without player for - 2 weeks?

You speak for yourself, I can definitelly be without my player for 2 weeks and maybe save at least 150€... and keep the same box that perfectly suits me...

There are a few other posts off topic, what's up reach your HDI threshold?

BTW, I replied to anothers post, my reply simply extended upon it.
I said that mobo upgrade was a good move.

I'am sorry that I mentioned HDI, perhaps I should have said mobo upgrades for popcorn future models would be a good idea and not mentiioned HDI. I mean if I knew that mentioning HDI would upset anyone I would not have mentioned HDI. In future I shall refrain from mentioning HDI despite the fact that I do not even own one or know anyone that does own an HDI.

Cheers

RE: Popcorn Hour Future Models
All I want is something stable; that handles all my media (apart from BD perhaps) BUT PLEASE give us a full blown two way remote control as an option. Like SONOS.

I'm reasonably happy with my c-200 now and accept it for what it is, with it's quirks and limitations, but a radical remote would be great for me. If I can get one for my Denon amp and network connection why not the PCH?

I can live without the hassle of BluRay and leave that to the experts; Sony, and my PS3 etc. Get back to file support entirely and I'll be catered for. My c-200 is in daily use and I can't complain now that I've gotten used to my workarounds. No doubt future support will iron out deficiencies and enhancements and fix things I've not even noticed are broken. Cool

It's a thread entitled future PCH models.

We therefore don't need announcements about what the Dune may or may not do. The exact point you posted had already been discussed twice previously in the thread, so you are telling us something that has previously been discussed twice. That's why it's annoying.

I want as much competition as possible as it will keep PCH fresh. That doesn't mean I want to discuss none PCH models over and over in a thread about future PCH models.

RE: Popcorn Hour Future Models
not sure if this was mentioned, but for me, 3D bluray support is a must for my next media server. It has to have 1.4 HDMI and be able to support the playback of all 3 popular 3D modes.

Dual HDMI outputs would be nice as well, like some of the current 3D BD players have. 1 for the video source, the other for the 1.3 capable AVR. This was you can upgrade to a 3D display and keep your AVR at the same time.

unfortunately, I don't see this happening anytime soon. The HTPC camp seem quite ahead in this particular area given the new 1.4 HDMI capable video cards coming out soon.

RE: Popcorn Hour Future Models
In some ways the C200 has become more than I need. Two years ago I loved the idea the the successor to the first NMT's would have full BD playback, now I'd rather just buy a $125 standalone player for stable commercial BD playback. I can even lose the C200's panel, it never was as good as other players I have and for the RF remote, wifi remotes seem to be the better way to go.

chris57 might not like comparisons, but the features in the TVIX Xroid are now exactly what I am looking for in an extender, Sigma chip, Android, 3D graphics (not video), plus rumours of HDMI 1.4 and USB 3.0.

RE: Popcorn Hour Future Models
No problems at all with stating what you want from a future model and how it is done elsewhere. Especially the first time of telling, its just when it gets to a third time I get annoyed Big Grin

If we dont tell PCH what we as customers want then there's not a great chance of getting what we want. Mind you we told them we didnt want a piece of pcheap looking plastic for the A200 case and look what we got.

RE: Popcorn Hour Future Models
I hear you when it comes to the Dune comparisons. I also agree with you A200, although re-reading my post it sounds like this is what I want but I want a metal case and noiseless solution. Probably just smaller then the C200 like the mod that you uploaded a photo of without a slim drive you. For wish list, a mini-itx upgrade for the C200 would be great assuming my PSU holds on.

Marketing wise I can't say Syabas made a bad decision with the A200's case it certainly didn't hinder sales. They didn't ask about the Popbox either and maybe they should have.

Experts? Sony and PS3??
The last device I use for BD playback is my PS3 slim. I'd rather use my C200 any day over the PS3. Or any of my other half dozen BD players. All of which I rarely use now since I would rather play the Bd ISO over my network than actually touch a disc.

My only complaint with my C200 is how it does BD bookmarks since they are lost if the C200 has full shutdown.

RE: [20 October 2010] C-200/A-200 NMJ UI PREVIEW (under development)
it is stored inside the db so no it won't get resetted after an reboot, and yes on TV Shows you can mark any episode as watched or unwatched , about bookmarks its the same the bookmarks are also stored inside the db so yes they will be also there after an reboot.

Werner

All this enthusiasm for 3D confuses me. I honestly believe it to be a pile of gimmicky crap.
