WOOOHOOOO i just got it online. i moved it downstairs to a different connection, and also i had changed around a few things on the router, rebooted everything, and reinitialized DHCP. i want to make sure all my media is shared, then i will try it upstairs again. looks like a router setting was teh culprit. |

I guess it's a cable problem, though that's odd, because netflix and streaming work over that connection to the PS3, use it every day. At least I know where the issue is now. |

Only problem now is that that switch I have is a decade old piece of garbage and wont' stream. Anyhoo, it worked! YAY. Allllright. Thank you so much for your help sir! Now, onto YAMJ! ![]() I'm glad it wasn't my incompetence with settings and more just an issue with a cable. |

(09-03-2010 10:02 PM)Charlie97L Wrote: WOOOHOOOO Hi Charlie97L, i got the very same issue with my PCH110 and DIR-655 and a MAC. I tried everything with no luck. Can you please tell me how did you make it work. PCH110 has the last FW. DIR-655 also. I am using WIFI TPlink stick to connect with the ROUTER, and the router can see the PCH110, but i am not able to browse the device from my mac or to connect with anything from PCH. as i read here it should be the same if i connect it with cable? thanks in advance! |

(09-04-2010 03:12 PM)laden.m Wrote: Hi Charlie97L, First thing, unless you have NMT apps installed on your PCH, which requires an internal hard drive to be installed, you won't be able to access your PCH-110 from your Mac as there really is nothing to access. Second, most of the time my C-200 is unable to "see" my Mac and unRAID NAS Samba servers via the C-200's Network Browser, however, if I manually create the network shares on my C-200, I am only then able to "browse" those shares directly. If you can at least access the internet with your PCH, try manually creating Network Shares on your PCH to the Samba shares on your Mac. If you haven't already, you will have to create Shares on your Mac via System Preferences->Sharing->File Sharing. For each folder or volume you share, you would need to also create a matching Network Share on the PCH. TOMY: The Only Mac YAMJ GUI, now for Windows too! Both available here. |

RE: A few beginner questions regarding Mac sharing
well, part of my issue was a weird switch/cable problem.
try turning off UPnP on the router and see if that does anything, that's the only major change i made in the settings. above is right, there's nothing to "see" on the a-110 if it's not got a HDD in it. |

RE: A few beginner questions regarding Mac sharing
For those that were following, ultimately my issues stemmed from having a potential run in wall done in Cat 5 vs Cat 5 e... it'll be fine for the moment, but not when I rip my HD DVD collection to the HDD for streaming. I'm going to redo it in CAT6, I believe, and get rid of all my current ethernet cables (none else are in wall), and get all CAT6.

RE: A few beginner questions regarding Mac sharing
I think that is not a problem because the router. Check the Mac (which you want to share files) and your IP settings PCH .Both should be one, IP, subnet mask, gateway and DNS addresses.
