RE: How to connect my smartphone (android) to NMT?
Try "Astro File Manager" with the SMB module or "ES File Explorer".

RE: How to connect my smartphone (android) to NMT?
Hi,
If you have any ftp or SMB server in your android then it should be possible to see your smart-phone folders from the popcorn. Alternatively if the phone supports media sharing that popcorn should be able to see it on the network. I havent tried this yet, but I will try it between my C200 and Android phone and let you know how that goes. Regards, - MustaAli |

Can Eyecontroller make this? About FTP server solution, I've tried this but nmt not connect; I've set 192.168.1.111 (port 2121) like ftp server on my phone; on NMT ,on web applications, I've created this url ftp://192.168.1.111:2121 ..but not function. I've still not tried ftp://user:password@192.168.1.111:2121 |

From the eyecon website
"• Stream content stored on the Android – We all use our phones to take pictures and videos. EyeconTroller now streams this content to computer screens and other connected playback devices." Have you tried simply connecting your phone to your PCH with a USB cable?

RE: How to connect my smartphone (android) to NMT?
Hi,
As promised I did some tests and here's what I have: I have Samsung GalaxyS Android device and it has a built-in DLNA application called AllShare. Using this application my C200 was able to see GalaxyS in the network-browser (over wifi) and I was able to browse my GalaxyS's videos, sounds and images folder/files on the TV. But the fun stops there ! I can see all my pictures, music and video files but C200 doesnt play them. All it says is "Could not open" for .jpgs and "could not play" for audio/video files. I have the latest C200 firmware image that was released few weeks back but I think it could be the problem with the AllShare application. A quick search for DLNA on the Android Markets shows up some DLNA and uPnP servers for Android. I installed iMediaShare from Bianor on my Android and it seems to work okay, i.e. it shares all the pictures from my mobile and I could view it on my HD Television but the image quality was inferior for some reason. iMediaShare only supports pictures, but no audio/videos. So, will keep my hunt ON for more some better DLNA or uPnP server for Android that is fast, and supports images/audio and video without any restrictions. Best Regards, - mustaali |

RE: How to connect my smartphone (android) to NMT?
Hi,
I tried the EyeconTroller on my Samsung GalaxyS (Android 2.1) and it seems to work great - good, quick UI and streams images, audio and video content to my C200->HDTV. It also is able to connect to my facebook account and display my and friends pictures. However vidoes didnt seem to work. The only problem with Eyecontroller : - its free for limited time on Android. - Eyecontroller is not a server so Popcorn devices cant browse into it. - Eyecontroller will push the media content onto popcorn from your Android device. Regards, -mustaali |

RE: How to connect my smartphone (android) to NMT?
Can EyeController be used to control the PCH?
Ie. browse media as if I was browsing on the PCH and start playback using my HTC Desire (Android 2.1) phone? Playback should start on the PCH, but streaming it to my phone would also be nice to have. If not, is there another application for Android that can do this? Keld R. Hansen PopCorn MKV AudioConverter: Tutorial FAQ YAMJ Poster Maker |

I got my version this week from Android Market but when I run it, it complains about no EyeconManager found, and then points me to their (no longer valid) download page. That same link is used on the page for EyeconTunes but nothing is there. What did I miss? |
