Updated tonight... and success, I can enjoy youtube!
No particular issue, neither any great improvement for my use. What could be played before update is stilled played, and what wasn't is still not played. Seems to me also wireless is stronger; to early to be affirmative. To everybody who hasn't updated yet, but plan to do it: avoid, avoid and avoid internet update. Put the firmware on an usb key; internet update has not really ever functioned, at least for my case. |

Do you mean the firmware you get after the internet update hasnt functioned, or do you mean to say the update itself over the internet fails mid-way for you ? I always did internet update before with no problems. |

The majority needs the freaking vc1 stuttering fixed and they need to stop beeing lied about fixes which dont exist. Don't know about the rest but HD passthrough was one of the main reasons I got the A200 so if it's fixed (will check tonight) I will be happy. I am less concerned about VC1 stuttering I never encode anything in VC1 anyway. And all my HD-DVD's I have ripped to put on the server I re-encode as H.264. So making some pejorative statement about who needs DTS HD passthrough is naive to say the least. |

Youtube works good, except for I had a video that froze, it kept playing the audio but I couldnt stop or pause it or anything.
The info bar for youtube I find is a little laggy too. The youtube has a very fugly interface, but it seems to work at least. SAMBA has improved for me a bit, 5 -6 MB/s up to 8 MB/s now. |

Could the possibility be that your files are encoded incorrectly?
more people are reporting smooth vc1 playback than not post the media info for a file How to post Media Info (09-23-2010 09:36 PM)NIghtwalker Wrote: I will if firmware devs gonna mind to fix a major bug which exists since freaking over a year. the stuttering of mkv's created with handbrake (which are not vc1 as it turned out) is gone !
![]() playback of those is now as good as it was with the february firmware. on the firmware released in may, the mkv's were unwatchable. yay! big thx for this release !

Subtitle font has never been possible to change.
You can still change subtitle colour, size and position for those subtitle types that support it, i.e. text based subtitles (.srt, .sub). The layout of the subtitle on screen menu is different though. If you want to change colour, size and position freely you need to switch away from the setting Auto in one of the subtitle menus. The Auto setting is intended for Substation Alpha subtitles, because they have their own colour, position and size tags. And file sizes are about 10-15Gb per ussual 100-110 minutes movie. But if you try some new discs in vc-1 (like Green Zone for example), where filesize is more than 30Gb - stuttering is ALWAYS. Even on 15Gb files I have stuttering when some fast scene (and bitrate is up of course) appears in movie. Even on 15Gb files I have stuttering when some fast scene (and bitrate is up of course) appears in movie. I have to disagree. This is again case to case basis. In my beta test content I include The Dark Knight BD ISO & Dances with Wolves BDMV. Both are using VC-1 and have NO stutter issues at 24p & framerate sync set to on. The Dark Knight BD ISO is the IMAX version so you can imagine the bitrates are as high as it can get. So far all the VC-1 stutter reports have been sporadic and hard to replicate. If you want to help isolate it. Please create a thread posting all mediainfo and we'll see how it can be solved. Also there is a bug with the SimpleBD playback (Jamos found this out). the workaround is to go to SETUP > BD/DVD/CD Audio and change the setting from SimpleBD to SimpleBD + AVCHD to stop stutter. Dave, It's about VC1 in MKV container only
![]() My example, Green Zone, I also have in MKV(remux) and in BDMV(structure). And in BDMV movie goes smooth and clear. Perfect. But the same sound, the same picture, the same codecs, but in mkv - the trouble we have ![]() Some people say that to playback from MKV is more difficult for CPU and thats why MKV can be slow... But my technical mind CAN'T understand the difference.. Codecs are the same.... no any convertions made.... just remux... just another container... why can it take more CPU resources to playback.......???

Does anyone have a sample of these stuttering VC1 files so i can test. |
