Look up TV-Mode button in the Wiki.

Why does it suddenly, without nobody doing nothing, change video settings?? and even if video settings is wrong, it would be acces by LAN??

RE: A-110 Total Failure - won't even turn off!
The same happened with my popcorn A110 two days ago. Als tried everything:
Restoring (with and without jumper), no luck.
When connecting to power, the amber light turns on, the HDD spins a few times, then it's dead, remote doesn't respond.
Also without the HDD, no reaction whatsoever.

I hope I can still get my movies from the HDD somehow.

Unfortunately, no more warranty on this thing.
I think I will go for an Asrock Media center instead.

Happened to one of my units too. There is no longer any way to fix this as Syabas does not support this product anymore. I asked for a replacement board but they won't send me one.

Perhaps they dont have any? It'll be cheaper to get a ebay replacement.

RE: A-110 Total Failure - won't even turn off!
Wow, lot of machines failing! As an addendum to my original post, I gave up on the A-110 and bought an A-210 direct from the manufacturer's website (first unit was 2nd hand from eBay). I though it would give me better recourse in case of any problems. Just as well!! It failed too, approximately 11 months into the guarantee! I contacted customer support and got into a bit of an exchange (at least they replied) and finally had to send my new unit (at my own cost -approx £30) to frikkin California to have them check it out! apparently it was the motherboard. They replaced it and returned the box and since then I've had no further problems. Yet. Touch wood. Cross fingers. All this technology and I'm still resorting to simple superstition! It sounds like them problem with all the older units is also down to the motherboard failing in which case no amount of rebooting or resetting will help. If they no longer support these models then you're knackered. Also had the same support issue with my legacy model (read 'older') Olive Opus 4 music server: "Sorry, despite paying several hundred pounds for what is advertised as the bee's knees we don't offer ongoing support. Buy a new one sucker!" Good job I'm loaded! Oh no hang on I'm not..

have you considered the possibility that you might have an electrical problem with that outlet/circuit if your killing players this fast?

Got reply back from Popcorn Hour Support:

Quote:This is a common issue when the CPU had failed. Unfortunately, we no longer provides RMA support for the A-110.

You still can access your HDD via your PC if you install a linux EXT2/3 partition driver to extract your stuffs.

Thank you

Fortunately I was able to use DiskInternals Linux Reader to get the data of the Popcorn's HDD.
I already ordered an ASRock mini pc [ http://www.asrock.com/nettop/overview.as...%20Bridge) ]. Very nice toy,
although a bit more expensive then a Popcorn Smile. But at least you can update drivers, codecs and stuff whenever necessary and don't have to wait for Popcorn's firmware updates and support.

RE: A-110 Total Failure - won't even turn off!
I used my popcorn for about 4 years and had a lot of fun with it. But it's indeed frustrating that there's no longer any support for it and no more firmware updates.
Now very happy with my new Asrock: using XBMC now for my movie, series and music collections. Works like a charm. And no more waiting for firmware fixes.[/align]

Add me to the list. Unfortunately just ordered one. Tried everything possible. It's strange they don't give support to older machines when we put our faith in their current products.
