Fastest NAS Access - Network Share Vs. Mounting - Difference?
Is there any difference in NAS access speed and throughput depending on if I read off the NAS via a network share on the NMT, or as a mount point on the NMT's hard drive via the NetworkMounter app?

RE: Fastest NAS Access - Network Share Vs. Mounting
There really should not be a difference in speed between, still using same protocol to copy the files over either way.
But I like the mounting option myself, since allows to only have to browse the local HDD on the pch to access things, vs changing and pointing to your nas, then if you want to play files of pch local hdd have to change back to that, etc. With mounting you can put all the different network locations under dir on your local disk, makes browsing much easier. I create a dir called server under video, and mounted that to a share on my server. |
