+1 there; I've been adding fanart over the last couple of days and you do wonder why you bother when it's almost completely obscured.

RE: [NMJ} Enhancement Requests
Hi Everyone,

New to the site, (been lurking for 1 year) and after the NMJ update (which I think is great) I would like to request an update to the Parental controls.

Can you please allow us to establish start/finish times for viewing purposes.

I'd like to have two features if possible.

1) Enhanced Parental Lock which disables the kids ability to even look at the wall during pre-defined hours of the day.

2) "Kids Safe Wall" again driven by pre-defined hours that will allow you to set a time/day range of 06:30-09:00. During these hours the kids can see all "Kids Safe or PG" movies on a filtered wall. Once we hit 09:01 the movies/series stop, wall is locked and they have to get ready for whatever?

I think this enhancement would be a great addition if possible.

Cheers and please keep up the great work Smile

RE: [NMJ} Enhancement Requests
It would be nice if you could create a program to run on my PC and build the database.

The option to leave it running as a daemon to update the database when there was a change to the filesystem would be a huge bonus.

If you wanted to go all out, you could also put in an easy to use interface that allowed you to change details of files, including images and so on. I've noticed that the scan is getting a lot of my movies wrong.

Otherwise:I'm neutral on this one. The initial scan takes quite a while but that's a one time thing. However, I'd generally like to see better performance while *browsing* the Music library. The Category (By Artist) is so slow it's almost unusable for me (about 600 albums with 10,000 songs in my library).

Not sure it will be a one-time thing, unless upgrades handle the upgrade on our behalf... I can quite easily see the need to perform a full re-scan on an upgrade which will reproduce the significant delays we had this time.

As for performance, accessing the database and associated images over the LAN is the most likely culprit - putting the database on local storage results in a significant performance boost.

RE: [NMJ} Enhancement Requests
#1 - option to have the database ON the PCH if you have internal storage

#2 - put space in the database for other programs to fill in things that IMBD has wrong (actual run time of a programs vs the 'broadcast slot time') and doesn't have (TV episode plot/air date) so other programs can fill them in (and have the NMJ display them)

#3 - (dependent on #1, even if not immediately implemented, put the hook in) put a slot in the database for the share the video is located on, you can then have one common database on the PCH's storage reference all network shares and unmount/mount the shares as needed to play the file.

RE: [NMJ} Enhancement Requests
1.) PC-/Mac/Linux- TOOL for building and editing the NMJ database. The current scraping engine is terribly slow. After 24h of scanning I canceled.

2.) Sets/Groups to combine several movies so that they are displayed as one object. Same thing for TV shows -> Only one poster per show.

The NMJ is unusabel for me. I'll stick with YAMJ for now.
Nevertheless I think NMJ is a great thing. Hope to see it evolve.

Already supported, moviename.nfo and the nfo needs to contain the IMDB tt number
e.g.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1205489/
for Gran Torino

I'm guessing he means displaying the content of "scene" nfo files

RE: [NMJ} Enhancement Requests
I'd love to have a sort option to sort by 'new' as we have in YAMJ. Not by release date, but when the file/movie was added!

PCH A-100 || PCH C-200 || Panasonic TH-58PZ800U || Denon AVR-1912 || Cerwin-Vega CVHD 5.1 || Dish Network ViP 722 DVR

Second this request - the YAMJ NEW category shows any movies/tv added in the last 7 days (or whatever value defined)

Would be nice with a way to start your blue-ray-disc without exiting nmj. I haven't figured out a way. I like the nmj and it would be nice to always be able to use it.

* It will be more usable to have the possibility to scan only one type of file (Video or Music or Photo)
