Can't play certain audio tracks of MKV

Hi there,

I've downloaded an MKV which the popcorn doesn't let me select Audio track 2 or 3, VLC let's me do it without probs. The first track is Italian and not OK for me. I've tried to extract the MKV and merge it again with only the audio track I wanted (English) that did work on VLC, but it gave black video and no audio on my A110.

How can I solve this issue?

I just see that audio 3 has 640kbit rate. Which probably is a problem for my 10 year old receiver. I will convert that with the PopCorn MKV AudioConverter and see what happens....

If it's just this specific file, then you better fix the file...

I've tried to fix teh file by MKV extract en MKV merge. VLC did play the file excellent. Popcorn Hour A 110 gave just black video and no sound.. I took the Video stream and the 640kb AC3 5.1 English stream.
So it seems that MKV merge don't produce correct MKV files or Popcorn Hour software is buggy

Did you remember to turn off header compression on the audio and video tracks when you mux'ed the tracks back together?

If not, and you are using MKV Merge v4.1 or later, the file won't play on PopCorn Hour 1xx models until the (currently in beta testing) new firmware is released.

Thanks that did the job. It seems my Sony AV accepts the 640kb AC3, or the popcorn downgrades it real time towards 448kb. Next step is finding an easy tool to get rid of videos with multi-channel AAC streams (mp4) and replace them with DTS or AC3 and stay popcorn hour friendly.

If you remux your .MP4 files to .MKV, then my utility PopCorn MKV AudioConverter can convert AAC multi-channel til AC3 multi-channel.

With remux you probably mean mkvextract -> and than this tool. Will try it today. Sounds very promising

No, I mean MkvMerge to convert the .MP4 file into an .MKV file.

I have some 720p concerts with WMA 5.1 (windows) sound. Can PopCorn MKV AudioConverter does convert it to AC3 5.1 as well? And if not do you know what tool to use.

Looks like a kid from a Spielberg movie, Am I hot?
