I am new to PCH and planning to buy one. One of my purposes is to replace my desktop pc for bittorrent downloading. I am always using utorrent and very happy with this software. It has scheduler and I can specify when to download full speed. And most importantly utorrent is very stable and supported by many PT website. My question is if PCH's BT client powerful enough to replace utorrent on my desktop? Every month I will spent more than 30 bucks on electricity bill for this pc. I assume PCH only has 10 watt with a 3.5 inch hard drive inside for downloading. Thank you very much.

I believe the torrent client will be good enough to replace Utorrent on your PC . However, based on what you're saying I think you should look into NZB's

1) No reseeding needed - cheaper
2) Less electricity - cheaper
3) faster -better
4) SSL options - so no prying ISP eyes on WHAT you download
4) Automated intergration using feedtime and Nzbget - so can all download at night

BUT you will need to pay about $11 a month to a provider like Astraweb but that's better than $30!

Have a read up on NZB's and see what you think... I'd almost guarantee you won't go back to torrents

Thank you so much for the info. I am new to PCH. My current utorrent dowloading speed is only 150k/s at most for some 720p mkv movies seeds I can find on internet. The top downloading speed is 1MB/s for some PT website of games. So if I want to download bluray folder files like 30-40GB it will take forever. Does Astraweb have a lot of bluray movie isos or folder files? How is its downloading speed? If it is good I'd rather pay $10 per month for it. Can PCH support Astraweb download? Thank you very much.

Do a bit of google searches for

Usernet - this is the provider .. Astraweb is one of these.

NZBmatrix - this is one of the MANY site you find the files (loads of HD content) as much if not more than torrent sites.

Nzbget is the usernet client (like utorrent) that sits on the PCH but there are others like SABzget

I get speeds on my A110 of 700 - 800 Kbs for SSL downloads and about 1000Kbs for non ssl - these are limited by my A110 hardware. I believe 200 series can get over 2000KBS

This means a HD move takes about 30 mins to download

If I use my PC client (sabzget) then I can get speeds in excess of 6000Kbs ... that's a HD movie in less than 10 mins

Start with the above - have a look at the documentation on here too and you'll start to see it's quite easy.

If you post specific questions here they will get answered but do a search first as they probably already have been answered!
