Interface/Menu Speed

Not having a unit yet and thinking of the A-210......could someone give me some feedback on how "zippy" the user interface is ?

I know it depends on what your doing and what APP is being used, but I'm more concerned if it's so slow that you have some serious wait or delay when you are using it (press a button the remote and wait). Maybe I'm over concerned.

Also, what about transferring files to an internal drive. Is that fairly quick or does it take hours/days ?

It's fast enough.

Maybe the only waits you might have are 5 to 10 second waits on somethings like DVD VIDEO_TS Folders, Blu-ray BDMV folders and some ISO files. The flash apps will cause a wait as well but that's flash for you. Flash apps being the ones on the app market and NMJ. but the waits are withing that 5 to 10 second wait.

except for when NMJ is scanning and scraping for movie data which can take a lot long 30 minutes to several hours depending on how big your movie collection is.

And the transfer rates if you use USB Slave can go from 8MB's to 10MB's.

Over Samba or NFS will vary depending on your router setup. Most may get speeds of 2Mb's or even 3Mb's.

now that ain't right at all.... I'm doing 60Mb to 120Mb depending on filesize on my A200..

Streaming rates are:
SMB 60Mb/s
NFS 66Mb/s
http 90Mb/s

Tranfer rates:
FTP 12-16MB/s (96-128Mb/s)
SMB 10-12 MB/s (80-96Mb/s)
