What would you choose - A210 or C200?
My A210 just died and they don't have anymore in stock. However they do have C200's....

I'm tempted to just go for the one in stock, but which would you choose and why?

Thanks

Nick
PS. the only real difference I can see is the bluray menu viewing / useage

Also the front has the screen - but what does it show and is it pointless?

Otherwise they seem fairly similar?

they are almost identical. the screen is pretty useless. and like you said the full bluray menus are really the only difference. its same chipset same firmware as the A210 but with the bluray stuff left in.

I chose C200 because of Blu-ray playback.

I like the hard drive bay in the C-200. Plus 2 internal SATA ports and an internal USB port.

There are two internal sata ports? So two hard drives can be plugged in......... hmmm that makes its a bit more tempting!!

I guess the firmware / way it works is almost identical?
I just spoke with the shop who say if I want to upgrade its fine.

They also say the C200 has more functionality as it has more usb ports etc?

RE: What would you choose - A210 or C200?
The C200 has two internal SATA ports and one internal USB port. It then also has 4 external USB ports.
The C200 uses RF for remote not IR. So it doesnt need direct line of sight and you can put your unit away in a closed cabinet. It also has a jack for an IR receiver. You can get the IR receiver and an IR remote if you prefer for $12.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI
CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407

RE: What would you choose - A210 or C200?
Both are excellent imo, but I love the c200.

I like the case, the RF remote is awesome... that's really one of the biggest pluses to me.

The internal hdd's and bluray menu's are icing on the cake too. Plus its the first to get firmware updates.

Pannasonic Plasma 50" -->HK254-->Emotiva xpa-5 & upa-2
A100 w/ 500gb HDD, A200 w/ mn100, c200 w/ 2.5" 250gb

RE: What would you choose - A210 or C200?
Thanks for the replies! I've decided to upgrade to the C200 so will be installing and trying this evening!!

Fingers crossed!!

I guess a lot of the menus are the same, and it works in a very similar way?

Looking forward to being able to have two drives internally & the remote sounds good... my gf loves the silver one so we'll see how that goes!!

I guess the hard drive I had in the A210 should plug straight into the C200 and all the content should still be there and viewable?

Thanks for the replies

Yeah man, and I hope the next PCH will be not "C-300 in a new case", but "motherboard upgrade kit for C-200" Smile

Yes the A200/210 has the slave port. The c200 instead has the hd caddy

I think a B300 which fits a c200 or a210 case could be a great seller.. although, I'd probably prefer the ability to ebay my c200
