Hello All...

Does Any one have working script files for MOC 5.6 that will
allow the scrapping of the IMDB ...

I have updates for Dvd empire but not IMDB ?

Anyone have these updates

I am using them in MoC v5.6. What happened when you tried to run them?

I should have been more specific with my response, sorry. And I meant to say it was the IMDB one that I didn't get to fully work.

I have a version of the DVD Empire one which I edited from notes fond on Kollectorz site and here. That seems to work fully, gets details and cover art etc.
I will try your one again though.

The IMDB one gets some details, but no cover art. So it does work to get some stuff, which when DVD Empire fails I use, and then find cover art manually.
I think actor info doesn't come over, I'll make sure I have your latest script and try again.

One thing I've noticed in searching. Sometimes there is a record on IMDB - you can find it through Google or via the IMDB search. But when you search through MoC with the same wording, it returns nothing.

We've discussed scrapping before, and I seem to recall you use DVD Empire when you can, IMDB (no cover art) and Collectorz database.

That's correct. When I search using MoC I have selected all 3 of MoC's database, DVD Empire and IMDB. I have the configuration set to retrieve the DVD covers from DVD Empire.

When I can't find a cover I like I search in two primary places manually:
- TMDb (http://www.themoviedb.org) - this is a good source for movie covers and fanart
- TheTVDB.com - this is a good source for TV "posters" which I use for covers for the TV series. It is also a good source for episode plots - often better than IMDB.

I haven't tried getting details from one, and covers from another (DVD Empire). I think that's what you're saying in the above? Presumably that is a two step process?
Or do you tick IMDB and DVD Empire as sources, but select 'covers only' from DVD Empire?

I think there's a lot to be said for having control of where the information resides, what you put in there, and how you add things manually. In other words, having something like MoC to do this.
It gives you a lot more control. And you know the information will stay there for as long as you want it.
Plus you can export part or all of it for various reasons.

I click on all 3 as Sources. In the "Search settings" I have selected to download front and back covers from DVD Empire. You get to "Search settings" by clicking the "Settings" button on the Update screens (e.g. Update automatically, Add Movies Automatically, etc.)

Including the Large Image .. From The IMDB ...

I have only tested it with MOC 5.6 ...
